There was a better mod on reddit that was just a simple .pak file and didn't cause a crash in Labyrinth but the link is dead and I can't seem to find another source. If anyone has a new link, please tell me.
If you install the Doom Slayer Mod, it will do the same for all characters. (But you will not have the Scrapper Starting Class, it will be the Slayer then.)
Other than that, though, seems the LOD textures for the backpack are unaffected; i.e. my roommate's backpack schlorps back into existence once they're a little more than 7m or such away.

Hot Shot with Yaesha mod style would be siiick.
