Remnant II

So now that people had a chance to test things around, it's a good time to proceed with adding some new features to the mod. Based on the comments and ideas proposed, here is what version 0.2 is looking like so far:

  • Ability to color cosmetics (DONE)
  • Addon System to allow modders to add to the list of characters (DONE, NOT FULLY TESTED)
  • New character release -- might as well to test the addon feature!
  • Ability to tweak the body appearance (i.e wetness). This was implemented, but I did not like the way it came out, so I'll be working a new customization system for the body that would:
  • Allow author to specify material parameters that can be customized on the body
  • Allow author to specify list of morph sliders
The end goal should be that the players can fine tune arbitrary parameters (i.e wetness, skin color, or whatever the author support), and, if supported by author, body sliders to craft their own proportions. Honestly, making this supported in coop is what's causing delays, and I am seeing that it's a double edged sword because some people want the mod to be effective locally only. If this is not fixed in version 0.2 with the Addon System, then I suppose possible solutions would include:

  • Release a separate, offline version of the mod that doesn't work in multiplayer
  • Provide a config file that can be used to switch off multiplayer support (not sure if do-able yet!)

    All of that sounds fantastic, greatly look forward to the new features.

    Perhaps release an Offline version for people in the meantime to get feedback while your troubleshooting the Coop working?
