I Spent Half of Last Week Making a RDR2 Remix of one of my Favorite Songs Using a Shotgun as A Drum
Every time I thought I had enough footage.. I didn't... But I sure had fun working on this and I would love to look back in a few months and see a playlist or something with maybe 10 or so
I had it looping in the background when I was on a zoom call/strategy meeting for work and I told them I'm not sure what that is but it looks like games are a lot more violent than I remember... Must have auto-played...
I had this idea and started with it and then there was no turning back.. I'm definitely going to make more regardless of reception because I seem to enjoy it and wish I could find others.. Which is why I'll make more. This one is the first and hopefully it will pale in comparison to subsequent additions as I learn how to edit the clips better.
The next one, or few, will be comprised of a multitude of different projectiles and not just the shotgun... I could see myself making one that's just knives being made up of throws and finishing moves - another that's just arrows - on and on - but the next couple I am going to try to implement as many different types as possible and use them where appropriate.
I need to remember to keep my recording volume and other audio aspects at a constant, but I think I cleaned this one up pretty good when I realized some of the recordings had the volume too high or too low - or I used a gun with a different sounding blast - which could be used but would be better to find out exactly where those "blast notes" could be placed to best accent the song.
For some reason I have the Theme for the 80s show Airwolf in my head lately - was thinking of getting to work on another one of these later this week, but no need to dive into another editing session right away - I literally need to "farm head-shots" (some of which being "farm-heads" I guess) because I want the next one to deviate from the constant 4/4 beat etc and do more fast variations at different parts of the songs.
I'm a huge Rush fan, and if anyone is familiar with that band, they had kind of had a [s]good[/s] legendary drummer to put it lightly.. Aside from this, the time signatures are always changing which is atypical even for progressive rock. I can't help but to think there's going to be a couple Rush songs in the future, but... the old record labels that own the studio albums are out of touch with today's media marketing and tend to flat out block any use of their stuff regardless of parody or free use status.. That's a risky one to invest time in and find out YouTube has blocked it in all countries accept like Peru or something...
Let me know if you have a request - I'd love to get to work on another one of these once I replenish my headshot data base.. which sounds really disturbing. which it is ..
There's not enough hours in these days..
I was going to post this earlier in the week, but I got started on something that was supposed to be a throwaway video for youtube short and I just got sucked in yesterday at about 9 am - It's kind of a tribute to Alter Beast (the sega genisis/arcade game) .. but really just has rise from your grave and a metal version of the theme , and a ton of footage that is more in line with the hour and a half rdr2 based film I released last month - I'm trying to really edit this next one down to fit in a nice neat 6 or 7 minute wrapper (the alter beast one). It gave me a chance to utilize a lot of mods specific to fictional weapons (thunder hawk - telekinesis - a lot of others).. I think its going to turn into something bigger though because I keep getting ideas and I want it to be the same as I can see it play out in my head. .. At the same time I have a week or so worth of Aberdeen Adventures that I think I'm just going to release in one video as a multi pack of short episodes/stories.. Like a much shorter, really disturbing buster scruggs -- if there was a way to describe that one... ADHD has got me doing 4 or 5 projects at once- but I couldn't do a single one of them without the great mods that have been coming out lately. I try to use every euphoria mod an any long video and I just got my new update of gang hideouts (amjm essentially) and I'm excited to see all the new heads for my next ballistics remix.. Ok, I'm done for now..
Enjoy the Red Dead Redemption II Ballistics (sounded like a good name for it) Remix - Not every idea I have is good but I'm 70% sure about this one!
