Arthur did keep Missy, the Steel Lady. He stabled her there at Atkins Livery, but obtained a new horse, a Hungarian Half-breed. Just a bit faster horse should he need to get out of Tumbleweed in a hurry.

"Random..........." (picks up jaw from KB) Anyway - good story here. I like the -anti?- hero painting of Arthur. And the unromatic depiction of the old west. No better nor worse than any other time/society in the history of man (In times of relative peace that is) . Of course in its own right considering the time/context.

I thought about this for awhile -- ok, maybe only two minutes --but knowing how you folks like the desert southwest and given the current travel situation... I gotta say this game goes a long way in filling a few holes in the psyche.

Views like the one I posted are over every hill -- all 360 degrees.

It has been my experience with some types of authorities that they always seriously need help after talking trash!
Del Lobos might not be heading for Tumbleweed, but maybe those deputies need to change their drawers anyway

So true. Like we all should unite together. Unity is our cry!
Do you know the joke about the pirate captain and the red shirt? Well, I'll tell it anyway.
      Spoiler:
      Show
Captain Zeke (my favorite pirate name) and his crew were out to sea seeking plunder in the Spanish Main.
When from the crow's nest came the cry, "Captain, there's a Spanish Corsair on the horizon!"
"Prepare for battle, ye scurvy dogs," the Captain commanded. "We'll show these Spaniards what we're made of!"
And then quietly, he said to his cabin boy, "Cabin boy, bring me my red shirt."
      "Your red shirt, Captain?"
"Aye lad, that way in case I'm wounded, the crew won't notice and will fight on bravely."
      "Aye, aye, Captain."
A moment later came another cry from the nest, "Captain, there's a Man-o-War joining the Corsair now."
"Har, har, me maties. If it's a fight they want it's a fight we'll give them! Bring up more ball and grape shot."
And again quietly to the cabin boy, "Cabin boy, bring me my red head scarf. So that if I'm wounded in the head, the men won't see and will fight on bravely."
      "Aye, aye, Captain."
As Zeke was tying his head scarf, came yet another cry from the crow's nest, "Captain! Captain! It's the entire Spanish Armada coming this way!"
"Well, lads this will be the fight of our lives! We'll fight on!" Captain Zeke shouted as bravely as he could.
And then to the cabin, "Cabin boy, bring me my pants --"
      "--the red ones, sir?"
      "Nay, the brown ones."

The graphics of this game are extraordinary.
You really tease me to try it  ... one day
As far, I will enjoy your contributions here ... with the music a great time out for me

The graphics certainly are good. Sometimes, I just ride around wandering to enjoy the scenery. One of the challenges is to find all the birds, fish and animals. So I'm constantly pulling out the binoculars to see them. (when you use the binoculars, you get the detailed info about the animal and are credited for a "find") There will probably be another Steam sale soon.
And Justin is great, very talented.

He sure seems to have trouble holding on to a horse.   Nice, moody story with great music to match it.   The landscape is great - very realistic - and I really like reflections.

Thanks. Arthur's been known to trade horses now and then. Buy a few, steal a few, and even catch and tame some wild horses. The views are fabulous and the graphics engine does a good job on the water reflections for sure.

Such a shame Big Jake had to die! I guess that era was tough beyond our comprehending!
I know horses, they are such good companions(if they want)! And a unique sense of humor!
I imagine the debutees shi...ng their pants hearing about the gang's imminent arrival! Hehe!
    Great lil' tale Laird!
And tune to go with it was a perfect match! Crystal guitar sound!
    What about a Tumbleweed tune:

Arthur is treated badly by most townspeople and especially lawmen -- until they need his help. Then it's a different story. Thanks for the tune. That's a good one, but this is my favorite tumbleweed song. Great harmony in that song -- well in all of the Sons of the Pioneers' songs.

Oh, well done.   Enjoyed this tale although Big Jake met an unfortunate demise (I read below you really have him stabled though ).  Wonderful shots, too!

Thank you. I try not to use god mode in the cheat engine, so every now and then Arthur or the horse die. Arthur more often. Although there was the head on with a train on the Bacchus Bridge once. We almost made it.

Loved the landscape shot and an all round amazing set my friend :)

It's OK, I used horse reviver on Big Jake. So he's alive and happy in the stable. Yeah, I like Missy. She has good lines for a work horse (Shire is the breed) and a nice bay coat. Thanks.

Personally I'd have chosen 'Missy'. But that's just me.
Very nicely done, and of course the tune matches the mood. Brilliant choice.

Missy is a good choice for some situations. You can keep 4 horses stabled and choose the one you want for different circumstances. In RDR2 the horses are rated by speed, acceleration, and handling. They also have health and stamina characteristics. You can guess which ones a work horse doesn't excel in. But for solid sturdy needs like being a good war horse, they're the best. Galloping like crazy to get away from the law or gangs -- not so much.

Well done Laird, these lines are really wonderful. I also sometimes talk to my computer when I'm alone.

Thanks. Talk to your computer. :) I suppose you could program it to answer back like Alexa. My wife talks to the TV -- usually yelling at the people and things she doesn't like.

Nicely done, really love this line: "He figured she couldn't read, but might want to know just the same." Shows that horses aren't just transport, and one has to bond with them, and fleshes out Arthur nicely.

Thanks. Bonding with your horse is indeed a key element. And it's actually an enjoyable part of the game. They take the place of followers or companions.
