The VFA-143 is The Commonwealth's Naval strike fighting Coyote. The distinctive squadron name "Pukin' Dogs" came about when the squadron commander's wife saw the creature’s droopy head and gaping mouth design. She stated, in front of the squadron pilots, that it looked like a "pukin' dog." The pilots loved that, and the name stuck.
The Pukin' Dogs took control of the Dodge Sector clearing out a majority of the Pirate and Rebel controlled sectors, which plagued the sector. They are unmatched in close space combat and their methods dominated the Dodge Sector. After the Pirate and Rebel incursion was snuffed out, the Pukin' Dogs now remain as fighter escorts or station defense.
