The arrest of Mendoza has led to the investigation of the Valesco family, well known for their influence on social media and the fashion industry. They have friends in high places so it won’t be easy to prosecute them until we have definitive evidence. We have assigned a surveillance team to keep an eye on activities at their residence by the coast.

Our key suspect, Carlos Valesco, is the CEO of Valetek Construction in Dubai. According to Mendoza, he’s the head of operations, responsible for the victims at the Dozer Barrel. He spends most of his time overseas managing the company, occasionally visiting every few months to see his family. The surveillance team recently spotted Carlos being dropped off at his villa escorted by several foreign bodyguards. They appear to be well armored and are carrying sub machine guns.

Shortly after, two vans arrived on site and multiple masked men entered the building. Gunshots were heard inside the premises warranting several units to respond to the scene. The family is still expected to be inside so watch your fire. His spouse, Linda Valesco, hasn't posted anything on her social media since the gunfire and their son Malcolm was last seen in his bedroom on the third floor. We are uncertain how involved they may be with Carlos’ activities so watch your six and stay on your feet.

The floor plan is outdated due to the original architect abandoning the project before it was completed. Seems like the Valescos hired someone privately to finish the design with an additional third floor. We have a few entry points and additional support if required. Study the layout and get in gear, let’s get this done.

New Features:

Preplanning
Players will have access to different entry points and support assets in a preplanning phase. This will consist of a floor plan detailing 2 of the 4 floors of the villa. Support assets will allow the ability to have a roof entry (max. 2 players), close all shutter windows to block sightlines, and tampering with the garage door for an alternate pathway into the garage.

Cover System
Suspects and civilians can now take cover as in the vanilla RoN experience. Gunfights will encourage suspects to hide around corners and walls along with the blind-fire behavior.

Vents
A new addition that can be accessed through the roof entry are 4 vents that will allow tactical grenades to be deployed to affect different areas inside the villa: the Lobby, 2F Lounge, Dining Room, and Garage.

Client-side Doors
Wooden red-cross doors no longer appear in multiplayer on connecting players. All players will see the same door regardless of host (may appear if latency is too high).

Custom Objectives
Map specific objectives beyond the regular "Bring Order to Chaos" and "Rescue All Civilians".

More Interactables
Along with the asset addition of the shutter windows that will randomize on every playthrough, all shutters can also be manually operated using the interactable touchscreens located around the map to open or close different angles. Or perhaps, a secret room...

Verticality
The level design has incorporated the potential for multi-floor gunfights, be sure to check what's above and below you. Of course, deploying on the rooftop will have access to skylights to provide even more blind spots to cover for the ground team, as well as the choice to breach interior.

VOID Interactive Developer Easter Eggs
We snuck a few around the level for those who want to go on a hunt. We wish we could have included more, but we ran out of time. Hope you enjoy finding them!

Authors Notes:

Xeph/Paperboathat
Thanks for checking out the map! Due to high request for a sequel and VOID announcing the mapping competition, I have returned with another map to tie off the story of Lustful Remorse! A long 5 months of development with matthew9324 and Reap to bring you something we envisioned for a potential direction of Ready Or Not. We've all been working hard to deliver this new experience to attempt to match the quality of vanilla maps for you all to enjoy, please don't forget to vote for us for the mapping competition.

I've also made a Ko-fi for those who wanted to support my work. Much appreciated for anyone who would like to donate!

Hello! My name is matthew9324. I’ve been mapping in the Ready or Not community since April 8, 2021, and have made four, now five levels for Ready or Not (not including my two old, unreleased maps). In this project, I was primarily an art person/sound designer. I had much trouble working on the level’s art when I started. I’m used to designing dirty environments on the fly without much reference. This map is different as it’s clean and requires much real-life inspiration. Overall, I learned a lot about texture detailing and real-life references from this project.

In terms of sound design, I learned about the importance of reverb. Many areas within the map have transitioning reverb (ex: main hall sounds echo more than a bathroom). Reverb is paramount for enhancing realism and immersion in levels.

Overall, I’m proud of my art and sound work, and I hope you enjoy the level!

P.S. There’s a picture of me somewhere in the level. Try to find it!

Reap
5 Months ago Xeph asked me to join him and matthew9324 for the sequel to Lustful Remorse, which of course I accepted! Our aim was to push the limits of map modding, and I'm very happy of what we've accomplished in this map. I hope you enjoy our map based on a solid pre-production design and a lot of technical experimentation. Don't forget to look out for Easter eggs as well, we just might have included you as well.
