About this mod

Edits AI and level settings to more realistic values

Permissions and credits
this mod is designed to adjust ai and level settings such that they more closely represent what a real police or swat scenario would be like. aside from the private security characters, paramilitary, and terrorists, ai accuracy is reduced to more accurately match their real world skill level. no more getting snap shot by convenience store robbers from across the room. amount of suspects are reduced to a more realistic number. no more endless streams of suspects piling up at door ways like a call of duty game. other minor changes, among others, includes more fitting trap types for certain missions or removal of them where they don't really make sense

my motivation for making this mod is that i find the idea of swat sending in 5 officers against 15 to 20 suspects (in certain maps) to be highly irrational, downright suicidal, and immersion breaking. if anything the police would send in overwhelming force. plus events like the charlie hebdo or radisson blu were committed by only a pair of attackers. vast majority of active shootings is solo or pairs. civilian numbers remain the same or are increased as that is most often what swat is dealing with when it comes to large gatherings like in clubs or parties.

imo the challenge of a lot of enemies isn't interesting, it's more interesting to be immersed in a very plausible and realistic experience where the enemy is challenging not by by virtue of numbers, but by being individually intelligent, using cover, hiding, ambushing, and trying to survive or evade police while simultaneously dealing with hostages and other complications. to that end, i have tried to tweak the settings to reflect these aspects. a happy accident of these changes appear to be that the suspect is more willing to use civilians as human shields.

note to developers: this mod is not meant as a critique of the game. it is still early access and many features are not yet implemented, furthermore the level, ai properties, and amount of ai are all subject to change as they have been with each update. i still believe this is the best swat game ever made. however this mod reflects the features i personally value more in the current state of the game.

please provide feedback on what you would like to see or issues you encountered using this mod, thank you.

Specific changes as of newest version 1.3(Compatible with latest hotfix):
-Reduced suspect count from 10-20 to 1-5 for most maps, Sullivan's slope unaltered
-Reduced robber and other low level criminal accuracy. Veterans, paramilitary, private security, cultists, and terrorists remain accurate
-In no knock warrant maps, ie twisted nerve, increased chance for suspects to spawn unarmed(will run away first then pull out gun if they see officers)
-increase chance for suspect to spawn in low stress state in appropriate scenarios.
-Increased civilian chance to surrender on sight in certain maps that make sense, ie hotel, post office, etc
-increased chance for low level crooks to hesitate before shooting
-increased chance for low level crooks to run away and hide before returning fire/ambushing when cornered
-increased chance for low level crooks to surrender due to flashbangs, gunfire, and orders for compliance.

Other changes made to suspect behavior applies across all maps in barricaded suspect scenarios:
-lowered veteran and private security suspect types minimum morale to increase chance of surrender
-lowered civilian minimum and maximum morale so they are more likely to surrender on sight and less prone to disobey order to surrender

Unintended changes undergoing analysis and diagnosis to understand cause:
-suspects more likely to take hostages
-civilians more likely to hide
-Brixely more likely to commit suicide

Another unintended consequence is that missions are harder to get A+ or S on, due to some of them having minimum live arrest requirements, and fewer suspects due to my changes. So If you shoot them down, even if only injuring suspects, it will count as failing to meet that requirement. You have to arrest a minimum of 2 or 3 suspects depending on the map/mission in some of the scenarios.
