About this mod

The Siemens Charger ALC42 is a modern diesel-electric locomotive designed for passenger trains. It features an aerodynamic body, advanced control systems, and powerful engines. Capable of high speeds and quick acceleration, it offers reliable, efficient service for regional and intercity routes.

This project was created approximately a year ago and was in testing, during which it was rarely tested, so some features may be incomplete or not functioning properly. Locomotive control is entirely manual. Most equipment, such as headlights and lighting, is controlled solely from the cab, and AI bots do not use them. Control interfaces are also unavailable from the first-person view; these issues still pose challenges in placement. Interestingly, they work well on the GP38, but I have no idea why they perform poorly here.

Q: How do I start the locomotive?
A: It can be launched from the cab by pressing the button on the wall behind the engineer's chair or by pressing CTRL+F11.
Q: Will there be a paintable version?
A: No, there won't be, and it's unlikely to appear. I don't want to see liveries on the ALC42 made by third-party add-ons.
Q: Will there be a black version?
A: I don't know, unless you pay an additional $110 for a model with a black livery.
Q: Why do I see graphical errors?
A: The model uses a different method for headlights, which can sometimes shine through objects. I recommend playing with graphics settings on Medium for better results.
Q: Why does the model look blurry?
A: The game uses texture compression depending on your graphics settings to optimize performance. If you experience issues, try using Medium settings.
Q: How do I turn on the lighting?
A: Cabin lighting and headlights are controlled from the control panel inside the cab, on the left and right of the control instruments, as well as behind the engineer's seat on the wall.
