I will eventually update the mod when I find the time and energy, and I intend to add some features to it as well. Until then, if you wish to use this livery you will need to stay with version 1.1.1
-------------
The Southern Railway had six EMD SD9's and one lone SD7, all inherited from their acquisition of the Central of Georgia Railway in 1963. The locomotives served mostly in captive service up until the mid-80's. Most were retired or sold off, but some survived into Norfolk Southern ownership and were rebuilt into SD9M's.
This pack allows you to paint the ingame SD7 to represent these locomotives as they appeared in the late 70's-mid 80's.
This livery isn't really intended for full customization, but allows you to get a close-enough representation of any of the seven units in the Southern Rwy Tuxedo paint scheme. The cab numbers are selectable component group decals and include prototypical Southern computer check letters. The front and rear heralds are individually toggleable, and you can choose to have either "C.G." or "C. of G." subsidiary markings under the cab number.
This mod installs using UMM. It also requires Lego's Logos & Deco mod, as well as Lego's Library of Stuff to function.
The colors of Southern's Tuxedo's scheme, particularly the gold used for the lettering and separation band, varied depending on the era. The following color suggestions are what I've found looks best, but they are only recommendations:
- Base: #000000 (Black)
- Lettering: #CFAA67 (metallic Gold), #E3AF16 (dulux Gold)
- Lego's Second Color: #AAAAAA (Aluminum Band)
- Other colors are not currently used
"Southern" lettering and cab number font are thanks to Pete Willard from railsimstuff.com.
