DM&IR C-25 paint for the Early Wooden Caboose, based on my own photos.

DM&IR C-25 was built for the Duluth, Missabe & Northern in 1900 by
American Car and Foundry. It was built as a four wheeled "bobber" style
caboose and later rebuilt to its current configuration by the DM&N
in 1911. It was assigned to Proctor, MN where it worked trains in and
out of the Proctor terminal, including down to the ore docks in Duluth
and the Steelton Turn to the US Steel Duluth Works in Steelton (Gary/New
Duluth).
C-25 retired from the DM&IR in 1979, and was donated to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, who sold it as a fundraiser. It was bought in 1980 and moved to a backyard in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where it was kept in great condition until its owner passed away in 2020. In 2023, it was bought by Gopher State Railway Museum of New Prague, Minnesota, and it was finally moved to their site in January of 2025. The current plan is to restore the exterior and use it for rides on their short stretch of track.
I have a special connection to this caboose; I've become friends with its former owner's widow, and plan to help restore it sometime in the future.
This livery was made using photos I've taken and will be updated with any details I missed. Maybe.
Enjoy!
