DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING THE GP38SoundMod (Scripts) AND THE COLORABLE TRUCKS FROM THE GP38 MOD PAGE (GP38 model, and the non colorable trucks are not required)
Thank you for downloading this mod! I have spent a good deal of time putting this GP40 together and share with all of you!
A couple of notes:
1. The mod does not have the high hood option at this time
2. It absolutely requires the scripts and trucks from the GP38
3. This mod is currently in a beta stage, like the GP38, report any bugs you may come across!
4. Does not have all weather windows as an option.
THIS MOD ONLY WORKS WITH UNITY MOD MANAGER AND VANGUARDS ASSET LOADER
It is possible to open the zip and drop ld-GP40 into your Assets folder (or the Editor location if you feel like editing the json) if you wish, but is not suggested as UMM cannot update the mod and will require a manual install each time there is an update.
For the majority of this mod, it shares the same options as the GP38 does, for those who don't know, the GP38, GP39 and GP40 were all the same locomotive, with slight variations depending on what model it was, with the GP40 having a Turbo 16-645E3, 3 radiator fans, a single exhaust and no big box on the long hood for the intake air filters.
If you are interested in using your custom settings from the GP38, they can be copied to the GP40. Here is a guide to walk you through this process.
1. Open the start menu on your pc and type (or copy and paste this)
2. Look for a folder named LocoPresets and open it
3. Find ld-gp38
4a. Copy this folder and paste it and name it ld-gp40.

4b. Open ld-gp38, copy your presets, go back to the LocoPresets, and create a new folder named ld-gp40, and paste them there.
5. Start the game, your presets are now copied and all parts should sync with the exception of the high hood option and all weather windows, will be added later
Note: If one of your GP38 schemes was on a high hood and you attempt to load it, the locomotive nose may disappear, select a valid nose option from the customize menu.
