About this mod
READ THE DESCRIPTION!!! Brings Quake 4 to modern standards by fixing the obvious bugs. Until we get a remaster (if ever), this is necessary.

- Fixes the infamous low textures glitch;
- Removes framerate limit while keeping game physics working properly;
- Makes shadows not pitch black anymore;
- Fixes Steam Overlay not opening;
- Fixes the stretched UI to display properly;
- Applies fixes from Quake 4 Tweaker (HARD REQUIREMENT) by default;
- Fixes the problem of sound card not being detected properly by the game via DSOAL technology;
- Increases FOV to more acceptable levels;
- Fixes the slow and clunky movement by replacing it with Quake 2 physics;
- Changes the ugly default crosshair and replaces it with the classic white cross from Quake 1;
- Enables visual improvements from Sikkmod by default except for HDR (it kills performance);
- Other small tweaks I forgot about that you will thank me later for including.
Download Sikkmod Lite v1.2 and place the "sikkmod" folder in the game directory.
Step 2
Download Quake 4 Tweaker and place the contents in the game directory. If it asks to replace, say yes.
Step 3
Download Quake 4 - Assorted Fixes (this mod) and place the contents in the game directory. If it asks to replace, say yes.
Step 4
Copy OpenAL Soft’s soft_oal.dll file in BETTER SOUND FIX\bin\win32 into C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
Step 5
Copy OpenAL Soft’s soft_oal.dll file in BETTER SOUND FIX\bin\win64 into C:\Windows\System32.
Step 6
For Steam users, place "+seta alphaToCoverage 0 +set fs_game sikkmod +set com_allowconsole 1" under launch options to have the game always boot with Sikkmod, which is required for all the fixing.
