About this image

"No one knows where and how this certain 'Carbine' came about- alongside the who and the what. Many had tried to explain but to no avail. From all the rumors, this is what some of us know about it: it was once a US Army Prototype designed by a 'Murphy' which was originally chambered in .303 British, but at the last minute converted to .308 Winchester, it seemed to have been modeled after the US M1 Garand and an early design of the M14. It was also one of the first few to introduce an under-barrel grenade launcher that would later inspire the classic M203 model alongside the M16 series. Although it appears as if this one had it removed- perhaps as a response to some liability issues with it judging by the scattered and tattered documents and reports we were able to scrounge up. Aside from that, the rest is just potshots of the purpose regarding this Folsom. Some say it was supposed to be the new service rifle before the M16A1 came to play, others say that it was going to be part of some military project before the Zeeks. The bottom line? It feels as if it belonged to a war that was long forgotten. And never meant to be."
