About this mod

An alternate look for Prey (2017) which is mainly focused on removing the yellow-ish ambience and washed out look of the game. Preset includes a custom created LUT file and optional support for Marty McFly's RTGI shader as well as ReGrade with Solaris. Created with ReShade 5.2.2, RTGI beta 0.32.2 and ReGrade beta 0.11.

Permissions and credits
During the continuous development of my preset after the initial release on the Nexus I decided to furthermore support a config which is usable by everyone interested (named Base) and based on this version I've also created an extended version (named Extended) in which I make use of non free downloadable shaders. What I share within this 'Extended' download file is only the configuration file for these shaders, not the shader files themselves.

The Extended preset makes use of two shaders not included in ReShade by default:ReShade Ray Tracing shader (RTGI) and ReGrade are currently in development and to get access to it you have to become Patreon of Pascal Gilcher - Beta tier membership is 5 bucks at least one time. If you subscribe you get the latest and previous versions of RTGI, ReGrade (and some other stuff), which can be used even after cancelling the subscription. For this preset I used the in May 2022 available versions, which are RTGI beta v0.32.2 and Regrade beta v0.11.Before you think about spending money on it, keep in mind that the RTGI shader has a big impact on GPU load, e.g. to get about 60fps at 1440p with this preset in Prey (2017) you will need a 1080TI or something in the same perfomance class. Since RTGI beta v0.31 you can change the shader rate from full to half or quarter rate. Personally I get about 20% performance increase from full to half and 30% from full to quarter. Additionally, because of the way how ReShade works the Ambient Occlusion effect of RTGI can bleed through fog, mist and water.

I created a Slider Album for better image comparison.

If the game is too dark with my preset adjust ingame brightness as per your liking. Personally I set it to  +1.

To verify depth buffer access enable DisplayDepth shader. Output should look as in linked screenshot. Deactive the shader afterwards.

Follow the same steps as with the installation and after selecting Prey choose Uninstall.

I created and tested my preset with ReShade 5.2.2
I'll test my preset with future releases of ReShade from time to time and will update as needed. In the meantime and in case of any incompatibilies you can get all ReShade releases here: ReShade Repository
You can also modify the URL of the official download, if you know the exact version you want to download. Just change the X chars accordingly: https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_X.X.X.exe
