Which bracket you're in seem to be based on a number of conditions and not what level you are or how many Victory Road badges you have to determine what point in the game you are, so the table names are approximate.
This is primarily to remove the fairly pointless ★★★ raids at the end when you've received the phone call from Jacq after what likely amounts to having done a sufficient number of four star raids.
— How does this work?
The game breaks the raid ratings down into five brackets, with each bracket providing a set chance to get a specific ★ difficulty, and those chances are the values changed by this mod. The determining factors for when you are in one or another bracket is something somewhere in the game based on (currently) unknown criteria.
These criteria are not at all controlled or modified by this mod.
From what information we are able to gather, you'll progress through these brackets by completing portions of the major stories, and then some of the post game content. Your team's level, highest Pokemon level, toughest raid completed, etc., likely have no bearing on this, but the amount of raids you complete possibly does.
For instance, we believe the mid-late bracket should become available either upon completion of the Victory Road story entirely, or possibly upon completion of The Way Home story. The late bracket seems to be triggered late into post-game after completion of the Academy Ace tournament (at least once) and *possibly* after the completion of a set amount of raids, at which point you'll receive a raid-related Rotom call from Jacq.
— The debug file is giving me only X★, why?
When using the debug file, the raid ★ ratings are set to match a strict bracketing with no variation:
If you're getting only ★ raids, you're in the "early game" bracket;
If you're getting only ★★ raids, you're in the "early-mid game" bracket;
If you're getting only ★★★ raids, you're in the "mid game" bracket;
If you're getting only ★★★★ raids, you're in the "mid-late game" bracket;
If you're getting only ★★★★★ raids, you're in the "late/post game" bracket.
Neither the debug file nor the mod itself touch the 6★ raids, so if you're in late game, it is possible to still have the one 6★ on the map even when using the debug version.
If you believe that you are in "late game" (for example) but are still getting only 4★ raids when using the debug version, that means that certain objectives have not been completed, and the game itself has not moved you into the "late game" bracket, but we're currently unsure of what those requirements specifically are.
If you believe the mod is not functioning correctly, install the debug version only and verify that the raids are spawning with only a set ★ rating with no deviation, e.g. only ★★ or only ★★★★.
If you believe you are in "Late/Post Game" and not getting only ★★★★★ raids then you are not in "Late/Post Game".
Good news though! That means the mod functions as expected.
