About this mod

Ultrawide support for the one aspect of the game that does not have ultrawide support: The Intro movies! It's the one aspect that can break the emersion for anyone who plays on 21:9 monitors.
I have provided 2 options for now: Zoomed and Upscaled, and Custom Ultrawide.

One thing that drove me nuts when I switched to an ultrawide monitor was the lack of .webm ultrawide movie options. After a bit of research, I found that since the game release, no one to this very day has made a single UI mod! How could this be? Fear of game updates breaking mods? Well, this my friends will never break unless Frontier was to completely change how the .webm files are read (which I find very unlikely).

The first flavor that I have created for everyone is a Zoomed and Upscaled version I created using Topaz Video AI and Premiere Pro. (This is my favorite and preferred version)

I first started by upscaling to 4K so the video wouldn't look as bad when zoomed in, and then I used AI frame interpolation to bring the frame rate to 120fps (I know you can't see it in the .webm file type, but I did this to help smooth out the animations a little bit more than original in the final render)
I then took the .MP4 files into Premiere Pro and zoomed in the footage to fit 3440 x 1440 (21:9 Ultrawide) and exported it as a .webm file type.

The second is a Custom Ultrawide Edit, this one I wasn't too fond of, and I think it will need a lot of extra work to make it look better which will take some time.

I started by using the original footage and then duplicating the footage on the left and right. I then blurred the edges as well as I could with my current Premiere Pro knowledge and tried to get everything lined up and colored correctly to match. Some of these videos I think look a bit weird, but the motion is so fast, it is hard to notice unless you slow down the footage in a video player.

WARNING BEFORE ANY MODDING IS DONE
Modding can break your game, and you might have to redownload everything again.

To avoid this, you should make backups of any files you will be modifying. In this case, we are modifying the .webm video files.
So we would copy those files, and make a backup folder on our desktop or somewhere safe and paste in there.
This way if anything breaks, you can easily replace the files and continue to play as normal.

Installation should be fairly simple
Drag the .webm files into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planet Zoo\Movies" and allow them to replace the old .webm files

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common" is dependent on where you have Planet Zoo installed.
For most people, this will be the default folder, but you might have your game installed on a second drive or moved to a different folder.

In that case, you can find where your folder is by going to Steam, right-clicking on Planet Zoo, and clicking on properties.

Click on installed files, and then browse. That will take you directly to your game install folder.
