5 Fampyrs subclasses with a custom Essence Addiction mechanic, 1 rogue subclass (Ship Hunter) and an overhaul of the soul blade (now Soul Binder).
Now includes a new monk class: Flame Dancer.

Permissions and credits
Flame Dancer Monk (new as to v1.1)
A new monk class that focuses on fire based abilities and attacks.
Bonuses: Automatically learn new abilities at each power level (see below and screenshot for more details).
Penalties: only 8 wounds max and wound generation is 10% slower.
New and/or modified Abilities:

  • PL1: Bearer of the True Flame: Charm/Frighten creature while boosting perception/resolve for the monk. Only fire related creatures can be targeted (Drake, flame naga, xaurip, etc.)
  • PL3: Torment's reach/PL5 Raised torment: Do fire aoe instead of blunt
  • PL3: Erupting Wounds (combusting wounds icon): Foes only Fire AOE, +1 Fire PL for the monk
  • PL5: Exploding Heart: Basically like the cipher Detonate except with fire and doesn't work on creatures that don't have a heart (skeletons, ghosts, oozes, etc.)
  • PL5: flagellant path/PL 7 Shared Pain/PL 7 launching kick. now one PL sooner than for regular monks. Do fire damage instead of blunt.
  • PL6: Torrent of flame: Now adds prone to the fire damage aoe.
  • PL6: Dichotomous soul: Now summons 2 flame duplicates (instead of 1 cold, 1 flame).
  • PL6: Flurry of Fire (The long pain replacer): summon fists of fire for a short time. Flame fists that have 0 recovery to pummel the target (super fun to use!)
  • PL8: Rain of Fire (The long pain upgrade replacer): Fire fists have short range and AOE.

Finally some animations have been changed so they match the monks' attacks. ex. Fireball is now using the torment's reach animation to launch a fire ball with a kick!

Fampyr Subclasses


Available for:

  • Rogue
  • Cipher
  • Fighter
  • Monk
  • Barbarian

Gain 4 new abilities:

  • Feed On Kith: Non combat only, will destroy targets on hits or crits (not graze!) and provide food for the Fampyr (more on that mechanic below)
  • Drain Essence: Deals some damage and return 60% of it as health
  • Charming Gaze.
  • Shadow Leap. 

Gain 4 new passive abilities:
  • Gaze retaliation: charms attackers who land a gaze attack on the Fampyr
  • Fampyr's Mind: Minor defense against Intellect and Resolve afflictions
  • Vessel's Body: Small resistance to poison/disease
  • Fampyr's Charm: Resistance to Intellect afflictions

Essence Addiction:

Fampyrs need regular intake of Essence otherwise they get penalties that can eventually lead to death. Each rest without Essence has the following effects:
  • 1 rest: Minor defense penalties (except deflection)
  • 2 rests: Moderate defense penalties (except deflection) + 1 injury
  • 3 rests: Major defense penalties (except deflection) + 2 injuries
  • 4 rests: -5 hp per second until death.

Where to get Essence:
  • 5 new recipes will turn regular crafting materials into food. this includes Spirit Residue, Luminous Adra Dust, and some Wilder Meat (Lagufaeth Livers, Xaurip Tongues, Reptilian Eyes)
  • Existing recipes that contained Kith meat, Vessel meat and Luminous Lobsters will also provide food for the Fampyrs.
  • The Vrer Chiora alcohol also provides Essence during rests.
  • 2 existing potions, the Luminous Adra potion and the Compassionate Soul Essence potion will also provide food. They can be used between rests like regular potions.
  • The Luminous Bathhouse in Neketaka will also provide food for the Fampyr. It is the only inn that will do so. Other inns will still provide their regular bonuses but you will get the Fampyr's penalties depending on the number of rests you spent without Essence.
  • Using the Feed on Kith ability will provide food. Great for roleplay but can be tricky to use. You'll have to find hunt isolated npcs that won't trigger guards and you're likely to lose some reputation in the process.
  • Last but not least, Connecting to and/or Restoring Luminous Adra Pillars through the game's quests will also provide food for all the Fampyrs in your party. This include the pillars in Port Maje, Hasongo, Magran's Teeth, Poko Kahara and Motare o Kōzi.
  • There are two optional files available to make the mechanic easier or harder based on the quantity of ingredients needed to create Essence Food. Download whichever one you like and load it after/below the main file. (the main file includes average recipes that will be overwritten by the two optional files if needed)

Ydwin as a Fampyr:

You don't want to play a Fampyr for your main character but still want to try those mechanics? This mod includes files to turn Ydwin into a Fampyr. It's what inspired this mod in the first place since her backstory totally fits with being a Fampyr.

She has three options:
  • Cipher Fampyr: Which is also a Beguiler
  • Hierophant Fampyr: Conjurer + Beguiler
  • Mindstalker Fampyr: Regular Rogue + Beguiler

If you do not want Ydwin to be a Fampyr, simply delete the 3 files starting with "Ydwin_". Deleting those is safe.


Soul Binder (Soul Blade Overhaul)
An overhaul to make the Soul Blade a little more interesting as a melee class.


Most important changes:
  • Some spells are automatically learned every 2 power levels
  • Get two new spells: Hallucinations (equivalent to Mirrored Image) and Nightmares (equivalent to Repulsive Visage)
  • Can learn Soul Bindings abilities instead of the regular soul whips. 
  • Can learn Psychic Riposte, a riposte that pushes enemies if they successfully hit you (10% chance to trigger) and grants +1 engagement.
  • Can learn Armored Casting, a small boost to armor recovery and casting speed. This does not stack with the Fighter's Armored Grace.
  • Some echo spells have been changed to be cast only on self rather than on allies

Soul Bindings:

  • Lesser Soul Binding: is basically a soul whip that provides 85% of damage as focus but doesn't do additional damage.
  • Improved Soul Binding: Replaces Hammering Thoughts (+1 penetration) but works only on proficient weapons.
  • Greater Soul Binding: Adds three unique modal abilities that provide +15% damage and a unique effect (Attack on Kill, Transform into plant on crits or Make incorporeal on crit)

Ship Hunter Subclass
The simpler subclass of this mod, it simply creates a new Trickster Subclass but instead of using Illusion spells it uses Cipher Spells. I created it to be used for Serafen but it can be used by anyone (hired adventurer or Watcher).

Serafen as a Ship Hunter:
This mod includes files to turn Serafen into a Ship hunter. He gets three options:
  • Rogue: Ship Hunter
  • Maurauder: Ship Hunter + Barbarian
  • Swashbuckler: Ship Hunter + Fighter
It also tweaks his character details to give him an Ogre Dagger and small shield as his starting equipment. (I thought it was very fitting for a marauder/ship hunter). He still has his unique blunderbuss as well.
If you do not want Serafen as a Ship Hunter, simply delete the two files starting with "Serafen_". Deleting those is safe.
