Hey lovely folks that still play this wonderful game.
This mod does still work however they have changed the file structure for mods in one of the later patches. But I've just tested this now (April 2020) and it's easy to get it working.
Download the mod - open the file.
Drag into Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\override
However this is where things change. the "CC_More_Colors.gamedatabundle" needs to be placed inside certain folders, the file path is as follows:
Override > CC More Colours > design > gamedata > CC_More_Colors.gamedatabundle
If you don't have the design & gamedata folders - the mod manager in game will not look for or find the mod - simply adding these folders in this order will start it working again!
It still has the issue of most of the colours going off the page on character creation, but if I remember rightly you can scroll on the appearance selector in game (on character sheet) and it will allow you to access all of them.
Hope this helps some that still want to use this wonderful mod :)
Worth noting that some colors are off (to make an elf with a realistic dark skin tone, I had to choose a shade of purple), but I'm not sure if that's an effect of the mod itself.
I'm wondering if you also have to remove the "min" and "max" numbers from the supported game version from the manifest.json too (i.e. remove the numbers within the quote marks, so there's just two adjacent quote marks)? This is something I've seen people recommend for other old mods for the game. Still seems to be for 1.0 - 2.0 out of the box in this mod as downloaded, although it doesn't seem to make any difference in terms of the game recognizing the mod. But maybe having old version numbers there does something else?
thanks for this update. i was wondering why it wasn't working as per original instructions. I'm new to modding so I appreciate you taking the time to update info for an older game.
I don't know if anyone will look at this to help me fix it, but i cant seem to get the mod to work at all. I'm pretty sure i did all the mod installation correctly with the override folder and all that but no new colors show up. Mod author, if you're there, please help me. ;-;
The mod still works with the colors but it doesn't add the other hairstyles for either sexes anymore. The icons still show up but the hairstyles that show are still male hair styles (my PC is male). Can someone recommend a fix for this?
This mod ads the Wild Orlan facemold to the Hearth Orlan, but not the other way around (still no "head" tab for Wild Orlan in the original CC and when you open it from the gameworld there's only the single option for each). Is it not possible to add hairstyles and face options to Wild Orlans, even via mods? That's a bummer. On the plus side, at least I can now create a Hearth Orlan with the markings of a Wild Orlan, except with cuter hair, and just use my imagination. AFAIK there's no dialogue difference between the two types.
Color options slide off of the 'page', and are unreachable in some cases (or have to be selected by clicking through the page/menu assets on to the hidden pallettes). Also unlocks additional faces and adds hairstyles that are all (mostly) broken.
Unchecked all mods, selected only this one and found the face/hair weirdness mentioned above.
i just tested in 3.0.1 - on my save (cause savanah folk orange color skin started to annoy me) and it works, even without starting new game put all content of 7z (whole CC more color folder) into override, run game, click appearance...

Maybe that's why the version today is "5.0.0.0040", not "5.0"? Idk.

I already used this mod for white hair, to suit the portrait I'm using right now for my nexus profile.
