Since Eternity Keeper no longer works with current saves, and IE Mod Rewrite's companion modification feature is not user-friendly and has some problems, I decided to make my own better companion editor.
Features:
Easy-to-use user interface
Allows you to edit any character in the game:
Companions
Hirelings
The player character
Animal companions
NPCs
Allows the editing of:
Display name
Attributes (might, con, dex, ...)
Skills (stealth, athletics, ...)
Class (only for party members)
Culture (all cultures unlocked)
Background (all backgrounds unlocked)
Attribute point allocation works just like character creation, taking race and culture bonuses into account
Enforces vanilla attribute point limits (can be disabled)
Except for animal companions, they have a lower attribute point limit which this mod doesn't take into account
Works in-game, changes are applied in real time, no need to restart/reload anything
Install with Unity Mod Manager (version 0.32.2 or later). Ctrl+F10 brings up the mod manager window.
