About this mod

Elemental talents (Scion of Flame, Secrets of Rime, Spirit of Decay, Heart of the Storm) change their respective spells to foe-only

Friendly fire can be a bit annoying – especially from rays and AoEs that have a long duration. But simply disabling it across the board would be pretty lame, which is why I made this mod.

This mod adds a new effect to the following talents:
  • Scion of Flame: Spells that primarily deal Burn Damage no longer target allies
  • Secrets of Rime: Spells that primarily deal Freeze or Pierce Damage, no longer target allies
  • Spirit of Decay: Spells that primarily deal Corrode or Slash Damage, or only cause status effects, no longer target allies
  • Heart of the Storm: Spells that primarily deal Shock, Crush or Raw Damage, no longer target allies

With these new effects, all spells can be changed to foe-only by learning their respective talents.
(Let me know if I missed something, especially item spellbinds since I didn't manually check all of them)

Not all of these make perfect sense (like Secrets of Rime affecting Vile Thorns), but I wanted to have consistent rules and balanced spread of spells across the four talents.

In addition, this mod fixes the following spells:
  • Ninagauth's Death Ray is now a foe-only beam by default, matching its description
  • Antipathetic Field is now a foe-only beam by default, matching its description
  • Pull of Eora is now a foe-only AoE by default, matching its description
  • Wall of Force targeting color now matches its real effect (foe-only AoE)

The "Include non-spell abilities" option in the mod manager settings adds support for the following non-spell abilities:
  • Powder Burns (Scion of Flame) – Note that the AoE targeting color will show as red, but the effect itself will be foe-only.

Install using Unity Mod Manager (0.32.2 or later)

Compatible with everything, but if you have IE Mod Rewrite, don't use the "Disable Friendly Fire" option, because that would render this mod mostly useless.
