This mod is not compatible with the new Steam beta patch. I plan to update this mod when that patch goes live, but (probably) not before.

Description

A small collection of fixes to conversations. I fix issues as I find them if I have the ability to. If you know of any other issues that may fall within the scope of this mod, feel free to message me and I'll see if I can work on a fix. If you encounter any issues with the mod itself, let me know.

Fixes
Added in 1.1.0:
  • Fixed issues that caused scripted interactions and conversations to reference the wrong character in some cases after the player specified a party member to perform an action.
  • Fixed another issue that prevented some companion comments from playing as expected.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some companions to not be marked as having new dialogue despite having new dialogue after the final battle.
Added in 1.0.1:
  • Fixed issues that caused some companion banters to repeat.
  • Fixed more issues that prevented some companion comments from playing as expected.

  • Fixed issues that prevented some voice-over from playing as expected.

  • Fixed issues that prevented some voice-over from playing including Pallegina's ambient bark in the restored Caed Nua Library, some of Eder's ambient barks in the White March (after reaching the top of the western tower of Durgan's Battery, after forging Abydon's hammer, and after arriving at Cayron's Scar), and some of Eder and Kana's dialogue during the final conversation with Thaos at Sun-In-Shadow.
  • Fixed an issue that caused conversations to skip bank nodes under unexpected conditions. This fix fixes several issues that prevented companion comments from playing as expected including, but not limited to, all of the following:
  • Fixed an issue that prevented companions from reacting to Sîdha revealing an Awakening cannot be undone if Eder was not in the party.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented companions from reacting to Aloth's confession at the end of Act 2 if Pallegina was not in the party.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented companions from reacting to approaching the blood pool if Eder was not in the party.


Installation

Compatibility

If using this mod with my All Companion Comments mod, install this mod before All Companion Comments.

This mod should work with all localizations. This mod is compatible with all current versions of my other mods for Pillars of Eternity; if you have any older Patchwork versions of my mods installed, uninstall them by removing them from the Patchwork Launcher and restoring the backup of your Assembly-CSharp.dll before installing this mod. This mod can be compatible with other mods that replace or modify Assembly-CSharp.dll, depending on what is modified. I haven't thoroughly tested any other mods, but from a glance, all other Patchwork mods on the Nexus should be compatible.

BepInEx (and therefore, this mod) does not seem to work with this game for Mac/Linux.

To install

To install BepInEx (if you haven't already installed BepInEx for another mod)
Do only one of the following depending on where you purchased the game:
  • For Steam and GOG: Download BepInEx_x86_5.4.22.0.zip from here and extract the .zip to the folder containing your game's executable (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity).
  • For Epic Games: Download BepInEx_x64_5.4.22.0.zip from here and extract the .zip to the folder containing your game's executable. After installing mods but before launching your game, delete the BepInEx.cfg file from your game's \BepInEx\config folder.

To install this mod
The file and folder paths specified below are for the Steam version of the game. The paths may be different for other versions of the game. Just make sure the mod's conversation, vo, and data_expansion2 folders are overwriting existing files.
  • Create backups of 1) your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\conversations\ folder, 2) your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\assetbundles\vo\ folder, and (if you have the White March Part II installed) 3) your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\data_expansion2\ folder.
  • Download and extract the mod .zip.
  • Install the mod's BepInEx folder: Move the mod's BepInEx folder into the folder containing your game's executable (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity, which should already contain a folder named BepInEx if you installed BepInEx correctly) and overwrite existing files if prompted.
  • Install the mod's conversations folder: Move the mod's conversations folder into your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\ folder and overwrite existing files if prompted.
  • Install the mod's vo folder: Move the mod's vo folder into your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\assetbundles folder and overwrite existing files if prompted.
  • Install the mod's data_expansion2 folder (unnecessary if you don't have the White March Part II installed): Move the mod's data_expansion2 folder into your game's \PillarsOfEternity_Data\ folder and overwrite existing files if prompted.
  • Launch the game.

To uninstall

  • To uninstall this mod: Remove ConversationFixes.dll from your game's \BepInEx\plugins folder. Replace the folders and files from step one of installation with your backups.
  • To uninstall BepInEx: Remove the BepInEx folder, doorstop_config.ini file, and winhttp.dll file from the folder containing your game's executable.
