IMPORTANT: This patch is for the 2004 alpha containing only the Bachelor route, and not intended for the release or Classic HD versions of Pathologic.

This patch is a machine translation to English of all dialogue, using Yandex Translate and reviewed by hand, and a manual translation to English of most UI elements.

IMPORTANT: This patch is (largely) an automated translation. It is not accurate, and not meant to be accurate, to the game's original text. It is intended only to make the game roughly intelligible to English speakers.

The patch is also meant to preserve bugs that were present in the original Russian - for example, Isidor Burakh's letter containing a "this should be opened automatically!" note, and Block occasionally having the wrong nametag. I played through the entire patched game to fix blatant issues, in addition to standardizing some name and location spellings, but I cannot guarantee the quality or safety of any patched text. There are also a huge amount of obvious mistranslations that would be way too much work to fix (and who can resist the joy of Dankovsky responding to a man's thanks with "Extreme sports car driver"?).

Installation:
Extract the provided .zip file into your (alpha installation)\data folder - this should create the subfolders Textures\UI and Strings, if they didn't already exist. After that, launch the game!

Known issues (with this patch, not with the alpha which has too many issues to list):
- The alpha's font file used for built-in map tooltips does not support the Roman alphabet, so building names remain untranslated until we figure out how to edit them.
- Some letters may be cut off after the first paragraph; let me know when and where this occurs!
