Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has three special pre-order skins for animal companions, but if you pick one of these animals as your companion their portrait sadly remains the typical one. Here I offer portraits that fit the ingame skin.
The black smilodon portrait is an edit based on the existing ingame portrait and the revealed earlier concept art. It has multiple small differences compared to the base Smilodon portrait.
The black horse portrait was compared to the smilodon easier to make, as this is only a recolor work.
Extract the portraits into the usual custom portrait folder (with the usual Fulllength/Medium/Small trio), then please use another mod such as Visual Adjustments, or another method which allows you to replace portraits for companions to swap the base one your animal companion uses for the edited version.
If you change the animal companion portraits with Visual Adjustments mod, or other means, then save the game, then reload the game with the save and the mod disabled your portrait remains the newly picke one, remembering the location of your custom portrait even if you change location on the game map, loading different areas. This is true as long the method used isn't only a temporary override.
NOTE: Animal companions in P:WotR have only two used portrait sizes, Medium and Small, with the Fulllength one remaining unused.
I didn't know this when I made the Black Smilodon yet so it also has a Fulllength size image. Having it or not won't matter for Wrath of the Righteous, but I leave it in the mod as it may be required for the third Pathfinder game, or if you wish to have a Black Smilodon in Kingmaker. You can decide to delete the unused Fulllength image from the custom portrait folder or leave it in there, the decision has no effect on the game.
I Hope you'll enjoy this. It's my first upload, and I intend to add later further portraits to it, at the very least for the three special pre-order animal skins.
Owlcat Games retains the rights to implement this portrait mod into the base game if they wish to do so.
