About this mod

A buff to Legendary Blueprints, which can be obtained from defeating Alpha Pals, drop rate. Comes in multiple different versions!

Permissions and credits
Changelogs
This is a simple mod that increases the Legendary Blueprints (that can be obtained by defeating certain Alpha Pals) drop rate chance from the original 3% to higher percentage.

Wait, but isn't there already a mod that's similar to this one?
There is! However, after checking the .pak file contents and comparing the changed file to the original one, I found exactly 0 differences - which means that either my extractor was broken (I used FModel), or the creator of that mod just mixed files up and uploaded the wrong ones and nobody bothered to check.
Update: After secondary checks (after some suggestions from other users), the previous mod does seem to have the drop percentage set up. I'll keep the mod up for the time being, I may offer just different percentages instead.

Why 20% as Default? Why not 10% or 33%?
I don't know about you, but I play the game in Single Player, and I didn't like the relatively small chance for the best blueprints to drop, and I didn't really want to "farm" to the point that it may take me hours to actually get what I want. However, I didn't want to make it "too easy".
As usual, only you, Player, can decide whether you need this mod or not and which version do you need.
Multiple different versions are now available:
  • 10% (Low chance)
  • 20% (Medium chance, Default version)
  • 25% (Medium-High chance)
  • 33% (High chance)
  • 50% (Very High chance)
  • 100% (Guaranteed drop, use only if you don't care too much about balance)
Only use one version of the mod at a time!

Which Pals exactly are changed here?
Only Alpha Pals which can drop the Blueprints:
  • Kingpaca -> Old Bow
  • Bushi -> Crossbow
  • Blazamut -> Assault Rifle
  • Suzaku -> Pump-Action Shotgun
  • Beakon -> Handgun
  • Jetragon -> Rocket Launcher
  • Penking -> Feathered Hair Band
  • Warsect -> Metal Helm
  • Menasting -> Refined Metal Helm
  • Frostallion -> Pal Metal Helm
  • Chillet -> Cloth Outfit
  • Azurobe -> Pelt Armor
  • Elizabee -> Metal Armor
  • Astegon -> Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor
  • Lyleen Noct -> Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor
  • Necromus -> Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor
  • Paladius -> Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor
Since patch 0.2.1.0:
  • Verdash -> Single-shot Rifle
  • Quivern -> Musket
  • Vaelet -> Double-barreled Shotgun
Other Pals and other things are unchanged.

Installation
Just put the .pak file inside the archive to [Base Game Folder]\Pal\Content\Paks.
If you don't want to clutter the main Paks folder, create a folder named "~mods" inside the Paks folder, and put the .pak file there (so the .pak file would be placed to "[Base Game Folder]\Pal\Content\Paks\~mods"). This is optional - game will still work fine if you just put the .pak file in the Paks folder.

What files are changed?
This mod modifies the DataTable "DT_PalDropItem" (Structure: "Pal\Content\Pal\DataTable\Character"). No really, that's it, it's only 1 file.

Compatibility
The mod should be compatible with most other mods - as long as the mod doesn't modify the DataTable mentioned above, it will work fine!
However, that also means that the mod is likely incompatible with a mod like Gear Progression.

Tools used:

  • FModel to extract the required uasset
  • UAssetGUI to modify the uasset (NOTES: Mappings are required; new Mappings are required after an update; set engine version to 5.2 (no saving issues); save the file after every single edit or you may get "out of bounds" errors while trying to save)
  • UnrealPak to prepare the mod

The mod was tested with STEAM Game Version 0.2.1.0. Just to clarify, the mod may not work in the future if there are changes done to the file and this mod is not updated.
I don't know whether this mod works in online, I only play in Single Player so I can only test there.
Might work with Gamepass version, but, again, not tested.

That's it, really. Have fun!
