Reset your keybinds to default. If that doesn't work, delete the file "Outward/Player0_Keymappings.xml"
If your Mods are not working or being weird:
Backup your "Outward\SaveGames\" folder.
Delete the "Outward" folder completely.
Verify files in Steam or re-download the game.
Follow instructions to install my mods as outlined in the Description.
Be careful adding back Mods which have not been updated since before December 2020, they may not be working and may cause problems with other mods too.
Is there a guide to installing modern day BepInEx that isn't outdated? The the that is linked doesn't really work anymore. I can't seem to find any way of looking for or detecting a "Unity Mono _x64.zip version " On Github. I mean it must be out of date as the file path it says should exist is: Outward\BepInEx\(folder), Outward\doorstop_config.ini and Outward\winhttp.dll. And that... What the heck even is a "(Folder)" what the hell does that even mean, just put the file path you copy and pasted from your file path. Plus It doesn't look like that anyway, modern day BepInEx's file path for Outward looks like this: \common\Outward\BepInEx-5.4.22\doorstop\doorstop_config.ini There is no Outward File in the Bepinex file and there is no config ini directly in that file, it is all in separate files.
Bruh I have been modding games for 10 years and I am confused as hell, gotta go to 4 different sites to install 1 mod. Heck I remember having infinite carry weight back in the day without using mods at all and I can't seem to find any trace of how I was able to do that now.
EDIT: Okay so i haven't been sleeping a lot lately. The file path that I though meant Outward\BepInEx\(folder), Outward\doorstop_config.ini and Outward\winhttp.dll. Actually meant it was ALL in the Outward file and meant to be a list of files, not one file path, like this: Outward\BepInEx\(folder) what they mean is "Core" not (File) like they found it easier to write a 6 letter words with brackets than a simple 4 letter word but whatever I guess. Outward\doorstop_config.ini Outward\winhttp.dll.
I am just a dumbass. Honestly though why would you put a file path for multiple files in a long line and not just put them as bullet points or in separate lines.
How did you get it to work? The tutorial states there should be a LogOutput.log file in the BepInEx folder if it works but that's just not happening. Tried adding the winhttp.dll through protontricks too in case that's the issue but still no indication that it is actually working...
I see some are having problems finding dependency downloads. So as of this date, here they are; BepInEx 5.4.22 https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases BepInEx.ConfigurationManager v18.2.1 https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx.ConfigurationManager/releases Then go to Thunderstruck for side loader. The BepInEx files are not exclusive dependencies to this mod. Just about all mods of this type, will require at least the BepInEx to work. The manager isn't required, but makes it easier for novices to use mods.
How do you use SideLoader? I've searched but can't find any info in how to use it? I dropped an "Items" folder with various arrows in it to the sideloader folder and went to the sideloader in game but what next?
Check your keybindings in game. It should have a new keybinding for the sideloader menu. Also, the newest version of SideLoader is on Thunderstore. The author of this mod does not update his mod on this site anymore.
For anyone else that has this issue... When I installed this mod I would get a black screen briefly after booting up the game. I installed the 3.8.4 file that's available on the thunderstore and it worked like a charm.
Hi i can not save my edited xml files, i read through the sideloader website and could not get any file changes to save. I am hoping you might have an idea what i could do (like a way to run mono as admin or something).
I installed BepInEx and Sideloader, and several other mods via Thunderstore MM on a new installation of the game.
None of the mods work, everything is enabled and updated. I have no hotkey options and no mods work. Should I just install them manually? EDIT: I think the mods are working. I forgot about the obscure step to change in my Steam settings for Outward - selecting the Beta listed as default-mono-Public ... Also have to choose "Start Modded" in TMM . Double clicking the desktop icon does not seem to load the mods.
Unlike directly installed mods, Thunderstore mods are added to a deep folder with in Appdata by the program C:\Users\MyUser\AppData\Roaming\Thunderstore Mod Manager\DataFolder\Outward\profiles\Default\BepInEx
For the love of god will someone tell me how to clear the sideloader menu hotkey every time i click my left thumbstick it appears and its so annoying(left thumbstick is assigned to switching quickslots

EDIT: I figured it out, it's an outdated guide. You need to put Bepinex and every mod into your Outward_Defed folder, not your Outward Folder.
