rather this, if it was made so holding guard could lock character to camera posistion and have Atks priority over guard. you'd have no need for delay and could lock to cam and guard direction buy just holding lmb and rmb not sure how the code change such things would be like tho
Oh so There's a mod called custom Combat Tweaks that allow atks to work out of guard. so if there was a mod that allowed holding Guard lock position to camera direction to allow Strafing, would be great.
So I have mixed feelings on this mod. SmartCam does enable you to lock onto a target when you block, and WHILE holding block it will swap between targets if you change your camera to look between them, HOWEVER, as soon as you release block your target lock is cleared until you either block again or manually lock on your target using the Lock Toggle key.
The description says "free cam 225ms after you put your guard down. The delay is to enable you to backpedal with guard up and attack without the character turning away form the target." To me that sounds like when you drop your block there will be a short delay before automatically locking back on to the target, allowing you to move freely instead of being forced to constantly face your target. Maybe I am understanding that wrong but I never had anything remotely like that happen for me. Once I dropped my block my target lock never re-engaged unless I manually made it. Maybe that aspect of the mod got broken and needs an update?
To be clear, it will "work" (no crashes or anything), and I really like the addition of locking on to a target by blocking, I just feel like the the target lock reset on block release is counter productive.
So bottom line, add SmartCam to your load if you are interested in having a target locked ONLY while blocking.
