Arena Battle Mode 0.1b

Welcome to the arena, Contender!

Take Rai Mei, Pirro, Crick, and Gus through an arena battle with over 40 bosses. Make use of all-new skill sets and latent power mechanics like Pirro's "Resolution" and Rai Mei's "Levin Stance" to overcome your opponents. As you work through the ten ranks of the arena, you can pickpocket, gossip, recruit, and duel over 25 other arena members, and earn leaves to try out over 60 unique new equipment pieces.

How to install and use the mod

The mod requires the use of a specific save file that is included in the mod rar file. You need to put this file in you save folder, for steam it's like:

C:\Users\USER\Documents\My Games\Octopath_Traveler2\Steam\76561198054954503\SaveGames

When you boot up the game you'll see a message reminding you to load the auto-save slot. Do that, and you're in. You can then save over whatever slot you want to use.

This is a COMPLETE standalone overhaul of almost every part of the game. It is definitely not compatible with any mod that touches gameplay. It should be fine to use the Playstation Button UI improvements or whatever, but no other mods are needed, nor will they work with Arena Battle Mode.

Beta-Testing

The mod is currently in beta-testing stage, but should be playable from start to finish as is. There is no Hard Mode implementation yet, as "Normal" mode is still being balanced, but I want to take a little break from active modding, so I'm putting the project out to gather feedback and insights into what needs fixing or improving. Unlike Shadow's Hold, this mod has been community-tested for a couple of weeks in advance of the release, so it should come with a lot less bugs than Shadow's Hold (and hopefully will be a lot less than 15 updates before it's final release-ready).

EvilOchette, Foehn, Beepo, Chewy, and numerous other community members for all chipping in ideas, feedback, and knowledge of the game files and modding programs used (UassetGUI, UE4-DDS-Tools, FModel, and the Octopath 2 GUI Uasset Editor from Jeffv).

This is 200+ hours of modding work, so while the idea may seem simple, it's very in-depth and dense for what it is.

I hope you enjoy it!
