HOW CAN I START DOING JOBS?

Once you join the Thieves Guild, you can start accepting Jobs from the small wooden table tucked away in the Garden of Dareloth, hidden from the ever-watchful and steely gaze of The Imperial Legion. On the table are three items - the Thieves Guild Drop Box, a sheet for Numbers Jobs, and a sheet for Special Requests.
Special Requests are - as they are named - special requests made by clients that have paid the Thieves Guild to "obtain" specific requested items.
Numbers Jobs are commissions the Thieves Guild has received from certain clients looking the cook the books for various businesses and other organizations.
Both Job types will reward the player with leveled gold, and 1 Fox's Favor.
Both of these operations are overseen by the Master Thief Winston Mallory, right hand of the Gray Fox himself.

If you speak with Winston as a Thieves Guild member, he offers various helpful services in exchange for Fox's Favor. He also offers explanations regarding Special Requests and Numbers Jobs, in-case the player is curious how they work.
If you speak with Winston as The Gray Fox, he will not offer his regular services, and will instead have special dialogue.
If you speak with Winston as a non-member of the Thieves Guild, he will have nothing special to tell you.
Now let's go ahead and grab a Special Request Job and a Numbers Job.

Activating the Job Sheet for Special Requests randomly assigned me 1 of the 100 possible Radiant Special Requests objectives. The Quest Log Entry doesn't give us much to go on, but thankfully, I have been given a Quest Marker that points toward my target item's exact location in the game world.
The Quest Log also suggests that time is of the essence, but rest assured - the player can complete their objective at their leisure.
Next, let's grab a Numbers Job.

Activating the Job Sheet for Numbers randomly assigned me 1 of the 100 possible Radiant Numbers objectives, which are separate from Special Requests objectives. The Quest Log Entry doesn't give us much to go on, but thankfully, I have been given a Quest Marker that points toward my target's exact location in the game world.
Now that we have accepted a Job of both types, let's do our Special Request Job first.

The Quest Marker for my Special Requests objective has brought me to Rindir's Staffs in the Imperial City Market District. I cased the joint and found my target item inside, but it's currently active business hours and Rindir is a watchful guardian.
Let's wait until night time and break in - we don't want anyone to see us steal Rindir's precious treasure.

I picked the lock and have snuck inside of Rindir's Staffs, with the namesake proprietor nowhere to be found.
That means Penny's Mortar and Pestle - my target item - is mine for the taking.
Even if no one is around, I'll want to make sure I'm in Sneak Mode before I grab the target item. Just because I think it may be safe is no reason to get sloppy.

I have taken the Penny's Mortar and Pestle from Rindir and was not caught in the process.
Requested item in-hand, I'm free to return to the Garden of Dareloth and dump the item in the Thieves Guild Drop Box to receive my reward.
Not so fast, though - we still have a Numbers Job to do.

It's already night time, so let's sneak inside and locate the Business Records I need to forge.

A little close to the candles for my comfort, but we're not here to reorganize.
Now that I've found the Business Records, I only need to activate them to alter their contents to the paying client's wishes.
Even though it appears the Office's resident is asleep, I should not activate the Business Records outside of Sneak Mode. Consequences abound for a careless Thief.

With both jobs complete, I should now return to the Garden of Dareloth and grab both rewards.

Activating the Thieves Guild Drop Box with the requested item in my inventory removes the item and updates the quest -
as well as rewards me with a leveled gold amount and 1 Fox's Favor currency.
A new Special Request will be available whenever I'm ready.

Activating the Job Reward Bag for my Numbers Job updated the quest and gave me a leveled gold reward and 1 Fox's Favor currency.
A new Numbers Job will be available for me to take whenever I'm ready.

I can continue to accept and perform Numbers and Special Requests Jobs as much as I want, forever. There's no limit to the greed of Cyrodiil's populace.
