About this mod

Adds 115+ new little locations in to Cyrodiil, a small but meaningful addition to the world. Both UE4SS and no UE4SS versions available now.

Adds 115+ small locations to the map in areas that needed a bit more life. These spots are not marked for now, so you’ll just stumble across them as you explore. Some of these locations will be harder to spot and are in hard to reach locations, and that is by design. The idea is to reward perception and to hopefully encounter something new every playthrough. Some locations are just tiny set pieces.

DOWNLOAD ONLY ONE OF THE FILES, THE UE4SS VERSION HAS MORE CONTENT BUT THE EXACT SAME LOCATIONS EXIST IN BOTH VERSIONS. THERE ARE NO ACTIVITIES OR NEW ITEMS IN THE NO UE4SS VERSION.

What You’ll Find:
  • New places - small, simple locations that make the world feel more lived in.
  • Unique loot - some spots have one-of-a-kind items waiting to be found. Not all of the loot is out in the plain view, since these items are free do not expect them to be without drawbacks! However, most locations have something worthwhile to pick up!
  • Guarded Locations - not all loot is free; some locations are guarded by strong foes. 
Worth Knowing:
  • Some objects may float a little (because CS coordinates can be finicky for the Remastered and need manual xEdit alterations). Expect tweaks in future updates.
  • There’s a good chance this will expand with changing out the assets added to be unique models and textures, it is something I am working on slowly. I do not think new locations will be added en masse. It will be mostly tweaks and a few if I get inspiration.
  • Feedback is welcome, let me know what works and what doesn’t!
  • If you want to edit, go ahead, I do not care. Just credit me and link to this mod. :)
Requires:
  • NEWEST UE4SS TesSyncMapInjector FOR THE U4SS VERSION to work properly. Make sure that it is installed and loading items does not crash the game, you can make this sure by enabling the testitem esp it provides, getting the FormID from the dump log and "additem" it on the console.
  • Make sure that LittleLocations.ini is in the SyncMap folder, you can ensure it is being loaded by looking at your UE4SS dump log and seeing that it is loaded and the items are being added. Just control + F "LittleLocations" and make sure it has found the ini and is allocating the meshes.

If you want to COE to a location to test all is working. The below location has an item that uses TesSyncMap, so if it crashes there is something wrong with the mods installation. Unfortunately due to the modding tools being in their infancy and playermade, some people WILL experience crashes with the UE4SS version no matter what due to the tools being in an alpha stage. This can be mitigated by placing Little Locations.esp above the Deluxe plugin in plugins.txt

I recommend using this mod with a de-leveled mod like Unclusterfuckered or Ascension, since all of the loot is hand placed and magic items added by the mod have drawbacks. Enemies that have been placed are not level listed, and might be quite high level. Enemies are not level listed. It means locations with some nice items will probably be guarded by something level appropriate. In other words, some locations will have timber wolves, a zombie, land dreugh, a troll... It really depends on what felt appropriate. Tuning will happen based on feedback.

Installation for NO UE4SS:

  • Place LittleLocations - No UE4SS.esp in: The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

  • Add LittleLocations - No UE4SS.esp to plugins.txt and save.


Installation for UE4SS Version:

  • Install UE4SS for Oblivion Remastered (Manually, not the default from Vortex)
  • Install UE4SS TesSyncMapInjector
  • Test that TesSyncMapInjector is working by launching the game, loading a save, and then opening your UE4SS.log.
  • Make sure the text below is in the log. If It is not, UE4SS is NOT correctly installed.
  • Mod 'TesSyncMapInjector' has enabled.txt, starting mod.

  • Add LittleLocations.esp to plugins.txt and save. NOTE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE DELUXE MAKE SURE THAT IN THE PLUGINS LITTLE LOCATIONS LOADS BEFORE THE GHOST DELUXE ESP!
  • To make sure Little Locations has been installed correctly, open your UE4SS.log again and make sure the below lines are printed in the log
  • Loading LittleLocations.ini...
    Then SCROLL down or use CTRL+F to find the below text.
  • Applying LittleLocations.ini...



Other Location Mods With New Locations:
Unmarked Locations - Imperial Isle - Adds locations to Imperial Isle, Little Locations does not touch anything there so 100% compatible
Pell's Gate - Quaint addon - Revamps Pell's Gate to be cute and comfy.
