Join the Mythic Dawn Cult (for real!) during the "Dagon Shrine" Main Quest, and bring an end to the Septim Dynasty.

This is a Main Quest alternative (or fork) mod created for the Remaster that allows the player to betray their allies and join up officially with Mehrunes Dagon.

Installing OBSE64 and the NL Tag Remover are both very strongly recommended as the issues with Unreal Engine localization strings make additional modded content very ugly to look at. If you play the Gamepass version, your steps above may differ. These steps as written are intended for Steam users.

CONTENT
- Clicking on "Commentaries of The Mysterium Xarxes vol. 2" will add a Toggleable Mythic Dawn Bound Armor and Mythic Dawn Bound Helmet spell to the player character. (the book must be outside of your inventory, then clicked). The spell will never wear off - to remove it, simply cast it again for no cost. (Lesser Power).
- An alternative path for the Main Quest ; during Dagon Shrine, choose to join Mehrunes Dagon's conquest instead.
- Unique weapons and armor.
- An extra faction.
- An extra quest.
- Optional content.
DETAILS
- During "Dagon Shrine", greet the Door Guard as normal and proceed within. Harrow will take your belongings and a Mythic Dawn robe will be auto-equipped on you.
- Follow Harrow to the Shrine, and listen to Mankar Camoran's speech. Once he leaves, heed Ruma Camoran and approach the Shrine.
- IMPORTANT: do not touch the Mysterium Xarxes (yet). Doing so will continue the Main Quest as normal and add the Book to your inventory.
- Take the Silver Dagger from the podium and slay the captured Priest. This will mark your official joining of the Cult.
- Speak to Ruma (optional) and she will congratulate you.
- To continue and leave the Lake Arrius Shrine, approach and touch the Mysterium Xarxes. Dagon will speak to you, and "The Cleansing" Quest will begin.
- Harrow will be "forced" to relinquish your items.
- Additionally, you will be added to the "Deadlands Daedra" faction as an Ally ; the Daedra of Oblivion Gates will no longer be hostile towards you. You will be given a spell to toggle your alliance with the Oblivion Gate Daedra, in-case you want to keep fighting them anyway.
- The exit door of Lake Arrius will be unlocked.
ADDITIONAL INFO
- After completion of "The Cleansing" quest, the various Counts and Countesses of Cyrodiil will be marked unessential and available to kill. Upon the death of each one, Mehrunes Dagon will reward the player with a unique piece of equipment.
- This step is considered "optional", as many of these NPCs are critical to certain quests and the player may wish to keep them alive until such a time as their usefulness expires.

- Due to the currently "restrictive" nature of Remastered modding, this mod is "lite", and more expansive content for the future is planned either once we have been provided official modding tools or our own community engineers have figured everything out about the brand new dual-engine system.
- The "Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes vol.2" will no longer be readable outside of the player's inventory due to the scripting method chosen to add the spell. I wanted to give the player the option to obtain these spells without necessarily needing to join the Mythic Dawn, in-case anyone only wanted the toggle-able armor. Open to suggestions on this.
- Do not speak to Martin Septim in Cloud Ruler Temple when you arrive to "deal" with him. Doing so will trigger the "Spies" quest.

- Download the Mythic Dawn Rising mod.
- Open the .zip file.
- Open the "Mythic Dawn Rising" folder.
- Drag and drop the "Data" folder into steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData in your File Explorer.
- Open the ObvData folder inside your File Explorer.
- Edit the plugins.txt file, and add "MythicDawnRising.esp" to the list.
- Save and close.
