For example, by default the detection distance is ~70 feet (~21 meters), which is ridicilous.
This mod extends the detection distance, as well as some other parameters to make Sneaking system more challenging, but still close to vanilla.
A lite sneaking overhaul
Version 3 introduces a lite overhaul of Sneak system in the game.
Mod uses different sneak settings based on how the character moves.
This should partly fix the broken sneak system in Oblivion and prevent enemies from detecting you through walls or from far away without a reason.
Boots weight and light means more now. Line of Sight (LoS) also works in the formula.
More of that, enemies will now detect you much easier, if you kill or start combat with their nearby friends.
No more "free" kills.
NPCs and enemies with higher Sneak skill will also detect you way faster, as it now contributes in detection more.
So be more cautios with traders, bandits, necromancers, guards etc.
Skill matters!
Sneak Skill 0-10: oh boi, you better walk naked and move slow, you're like a cow on ice
Sneak Skill 11-25: you get the basics, now you can wear sandals, but you're still loud af
Sneak Skill 26-50: you move fast, covered by shadows, they can feel you, but can't see
Sneak Skill 51-75: now you can wear almost whatever you want, and still be sneaky a$$
Sneak Skill 76-100: you're pretty much invisible, even covered by light, - they think it's the Ale makes jokes with their vision
Some charts below should help you to understand it better.
LoS (Line of Sight)
LoS means the player is in the enemy’s field of view — basically facing them.
Enemies seem to have around 190° FOV.
No LoS means the player is behind the enemy or hidden behind an object like a wall or box.
Sneak chart (no LoS with enemy)
The higher your sneak skill, the lower the chances of being detected by noise and other factors.
For example, wearing Leather Boots at a low skill level greatly increases your chances of being detected.
Sandals or going barefoot are better options before level 25.

Sneak chart (LoS with enemy)
Avoiding detection when in front of an enemy is now more difficult.
Light, sound, distance, and especially your skill level play a major role.
Staying hidden is nearly impossible at levels 0–15, somewhat possible around level 25, and gets manageable by level 50.

How to install?
1) Make sure to install UE4SS for OblivionRemastered - This is like OBSE, but for the Unreal layer rather than the base Oblivion functions. If you are using Vortex, this should be automatically installed for you.
2) Install the mod (can install using Vortex, it works fine).
3) Enjoy!
