About this mod

Adjusts the levels at which alchemy tools are able to be found, adjusts the frequency and rarity of higher tier tools, and makes master tools available for purchase from vendor inventories.

Changelogs
In the vanilla game, access to alchemy tools through vendors is very oddly distributed. There are large gaps between availability as you reach higher tiers, and master tools are never able to be found from vendors, meaning you need to get extremely lucky through dungeon exploration. This mod aims to smooth out the level progression between higher tier tools and allow access to master tools from vendors, both without trivializing the progression system or invalidating dungeon delving.

Details:
  • Adjusts level requirements for vendors selling new tiers of tool
  • In Vanilla, the progression was: Level 1 - Novice, Level 6 - Apprentice, Level 14 - Journeyman, Level 18 - Expert
  • With this mod, the progression is: Level 1 - Novice, Level 6 - Apprentice, Level 11 - Journeyman, Level 16 - Expert, Level 21 - Master
  • Upon reaching new tiers, lower tier items become slightly more prevalent. This change mirrors vendor lists for armor and weapons, ensuring that you will not get immediate access to fully upgraded tools, and will continue to be rewarded for exploring
  • Tool acquisition from dungeons and exploration has not been changed, meaning that you still have a chance of getting lucky and finding new tiers of tools significantly earlier than you would from vendors

Installation:

  • Drop the .esp file into the following directory:
    \Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data
  • Add "Rebalanced Alchemical Apparati Distribution.esp" to the bottom of your plugins.txt file in the same folder.
  • Uninstallation - remove file(s) and entry/entries. As this is a Bethesda game, I highly discourage users from removing plugins during an active playthrough, and will be unable to provide troubleshooting support if you decide to do so.
