Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash DLC released

  • Comment
Both the Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash DLC have been released today on Steam. The Courier's Stash is simply a collection of all the pre-order DLC and costs $1.99. The Gun Runners' Arsenal costs $3.99, as described in earlier articles, includes 27 new weapons, 40 new weapon mods, 18 new ammo recipes, 29 new ammo types, and 20 new weapon challenges.

Update: Lingwei points out in the comments that not all the "new weapons" are entirely "new."

We should note that 7 of those "new weapons" are just moddable versions of the unique weapons, several are just ports of Fallout 3 weapons, and several are also already made available in a mod (Antistar's Weapon Mods Expanded).

Does GRA mess up existing weapons mods and weapon mod kits?

No, GRA guns are not the same as normal weapons.

As far as I can see the katana from GRA is identical to the katana from Mothership Zeta. It can be modded though.

I've uploaded a mod sorter for GRA mods by the way.

After looking at the stuff closely I can definitely say that it's nothing to write home about but having more stuff to play with is always nice.

There is an extra perk and new challenges for those who like that sort of things.

    Once upon a time....
The quality of an expansion was determined by its content of newly released material and the fixes for previously installed game bugs!
The concept of DLC is great for both the game and player alike!
However, when the content exceeds the amount of actual game fixes then you have to question what is actually happening!?
Yes, they are pushing out the DLC!
Yes, they are keeping the game going!
No, they are not taking the time to fix any of the game bugs!!
Seriously, how many of you are using a "Community Bug Patch"??

I've said it once before and I'll say it again,"Its the modders who make the game enjoyable!"
If it wasn't for the modders, I wouldn't even bother playing!
All of you deserve a pat on the back and a hearty "Thank you"!!

I think everyone just needs to consider GRA a console DLC they only released for the PC because if they didn't the complaints would be twice as bad. It doesn't excuse any bugs, but I think if you look at it from this perspective you'll possibly see things differently.

    i agree with walrus2517 there

I've notice that quite a lot of people here are arguing the quality of this mod, while not possessing such a mod, judging from the comments, the quality is similar to 'vanilla' weapons, which is unfortunately not very prodigious.

Now, when you take a careful look at the textures, you can tell that they are scaled down, not originally textured that poorly. To reduce complexity and accommodate for the console's poor memory management, the textures are universal throughout all systems.

'Official quality' is a term used only by those who are irrationally biased towards the regard of the developer as word of God. There are many instances modders have overtaken such quality, though sometimes (especially with so-called texture quality) it is because of administration disregards rather than lack of talent.

Nevertheless, for $3.99, what are you expecting?

They look like the Devs used MS Paint

I don't take it you texture: just from the normals, you can tell they were properly baked.

None of us can know what business/politics went on with all of the DLC. There are often tensions between separate development houses (like Obsidian) when they have a publisher (like Bethesda) with certain interests in the content.

I'm not saying that's the case here, but it did seem pretty ambiguous for awhile as to how much DLC was coming out and when it would be released. I'm happy they were able to release as much content as they did. And, while I would love one more solid game/stability patch, I'm happy with how Obsidian consistently pushed out regular updates for quite awhile.

I followed the argumentation between weijiesen and Kyojinmaru... and have to say WTF?
Kyojinmaru you still didn't get it? The problem is not the resolution but they are simply made poorly or missing any proof of effort... To say it exaggerated: They look like the Devs used MS Paint. (BTW I and probably many others don't care much about resolution either cause some of those fancy textures are simply to heavy for our systems)

What you don't get is that this is YOUR opinion, for me the weapons are perfectly fine. And don't talk about effort, because is what it lacks in 90% of mods. You see?, matter of perspective.
