Old World Blues now available on Steam

  • Comment

Old World Blues has been released (surprisingly "early" in the day). The third and latest $10 DLC adds new terrain, new enemies, and new perks and weapons. The level cap will also be increased by 5.

Note: Currently Old World Blues is only available in the US. It should be available in other regions later in the day. Jason Bergman has since revealed that the Old World Blues will not be available outside of North America until tomorrow (7/20). Apparently Bethesda thinks it's a good idea to delay the PC non-NA release to coincide with the PS3 non-NA release and not release Old World Blues on its release date because, well, who knows.

The description of Old World Blues can be read below.

The residents of the Mojave have long assumed the trackless wastes of the ‘Big Empty’ are a no-man's-land, a desolate stretch where no living thing can survive. In Old World Blues, you discover that it is anything but...

After being transported to the Big MT research crater, you find you're the only hope of saving the Think Tank – the strange group of post-human researchers who inhabit the facility. They enlist your aid to save them from their own experiments - experiments that have gone horribly out of control. As you explore the huge stretch of the Big MT crater and its many underground labs, you’ll confront strange mutated animals, battle terrifying new atomic robots, and discover a new home base to call your own. Recover all the weapons, armor, and tech of the Pre-War era and use them to help save all of Science!

well sorry for bad english, but I was wondering if anyone had the same problem. In building the X8 the gateway does not appear unfeasible to continue the mission. I did not find anything on the internet that could solve the problem or the problem is isolated to some people because it only found one site where the reported bug, but does not say if there is any patch that solves the problem. I wonder if any of the many forum users here had the same bug and is able to solve. I thank.

Definitely my favorite of the DLC's. Its got what players want, lots of exploring, new weapons, armor, and cannon fodder... and the plot is well conceived and written (unlike the last two). Well done!

probably you better go and play it again before you judge than...as for me i don't understand the love for Honest Hearts, which in my opinion were the worst of them all...even worse than dead money for me!...how i played OWB and as the whole how i play any of the addons? i just skip the hell of all dialogues (except endings and intros) and just go explore locations, enemies, weapons it has to offer and before judging MrKit i reccomend doing the same way i did, and when you'll realize that its the longest, the least linear with the most unqiue weapons and enemeies, well when you'll try all those things, you have than right to come back and talk s#*! about it, until than you're just acting like attention whore...

I haven't really gotten into the new DLC (Old World Blues) as much as I would have liked. I waited for it and really wanted to play, but when it finally arrived (after a Steam hiccup) it turned me off right out of the gate.

The first time I went in there it told me I wasn't high enough leveled for it. Okay, so, I turned back. Later, when I had my level, I went in.

I won't post any spoilers, but what turned me off right away was that you go into a place where all kinds of characters gives you more information than you'd ever want or could possible recall for later use. It seemed like about a half hour before before they were done talking to me and each other. That's a LONG time NOT to be playing the game, listening to dialogue and hoping I've remembered the parts of it that I would need later on in the game. By the end of the little "briefing" I'd lost interest in actually going out and experiencing whatever adventures it holds.

Please don't reply calling me evil names or anything. I am NOT reviewing a DLC I haven't played here, I'm just commenting on how much intro it has, something tedious that I HAVE "played." Eventually, when I want to give it another try I will go through the whole DLC and see what playing it is like.

I need to get into the playing of a DLC MUCH faster than this one allows.

    My two shekels worth.

i have to say its best DLC so far yet and from what i've heard about Loneseome raods i doubt it'll top it...basically for one big reason, it will be linear (kind of like dead money...) Honest Hearts i didn't like so much...

my favorite DLC so far, Dead Money and Honest Hearts were also good, i like the dark survival, dungeon crawl style of Dead Money and although Honest Hearts' quest was pretty short it still provided very good items like the desert ranger and survivalist rifle and the map was also beautiful, i wonder how Lonesome Road will be like

edit: and no CTDs so far even with +80 mods running

Love this dlc, allot more advanced than the Mojave wasteland, it reminds me of DC with all the underground labs and crazy people to talk to.

Definitely the best so far, but I didn't hate the first DLC (Had almost no problem with them, they were fun and exploring new area is always fun) the whole combination of alot of buildings to explore, humor, and cool items was really good, hope they keep it up for Lonesome Blues which I bet they will since its the last one.

After trying different things for a long time, I managed to figure out it was Imp's Timescale Adjuster.

I reset the timescale to normal and its been ok since.
