New file server

Well my exam and coursework period is now officially over and the university term is over until October. To "celebrate" I have purchased a fourth file server for TESNexus to deal with growing demand on the site.

Many people have complained about slow download speeds recently but unfortunately I have been too busy to investigate. As a result an above average number of people have signed up for premium accounts that has enabled me to fund a fourth file server for the site.

Located in Texas, USA, FS4 can serve up to 10TB of bandwidth every month. Give the server a go and report back on your findings!

I may well be upgrading the Chicago server as well. Lots to come over the summer :)

    Nice! I was wondering why the download speed was so slow...
    However, the London server still seems to be slow and I'm from Europe - the DL speed was approx. 20 KB/s(8 KB/s before). The Chicago server is twice as quick for me.

    Hey dude, nice, thx.. How does it actually feel to make a site urself that suddenly becomes way more popular and active then you (probably) would guessed it would be? =)

    OK when the file finished it was more like 87.45KB/s

    AVG=125KBs 30% better than Chicago.

    man nice its about time we got a new server the first texas one has been super slow lately (5-10 kb/s)
    but this new server im getting an upwards of 150 kb/s
    if this was funded by premium accounts perhaps ill sign up for one

    I have a 2850kb connection.

    I use FireFox on Vista.

    At 12:50pm EST(-5 GMT)on 5/23/08 I downloaded a
    54mb file from S4(uncapped)

    speed remained consistent between
    320kb and 350kb and peaked at 354.3kb

    Speeds on new server are good, others have come up as well....seems server saturation or maximum connections was slowing the downloads.
