Quinn's Elven Weapons Replacement

What It Does:
Adds default Bethesda Elven weapon textures to sword meshes created by Adonnay.

Description:
Many months ago Adonnay released his excellent Elven swords. They took the Oblivion modding community by storm. Coming in a variety of colors and shapes, they clearly put Bethesda's Elven weapons to shame. Other mods were released which replaced some of Bethesda's swords with Adonnay's, but they lacked something. Namely, they didn't quite match all the other Elven weapons and armor. I couldn't bring myself to use armor and axes and hammers that looked one way, then add a sword to my collection which was labelled the same (Elven) but looked very different. This mod attempts to correct that problem.

Many of the textures in Adonnay's swords come directly from Bethesda defaults, but are recolored or slightly changed. As close as I could, I changed the colors back and added wood textures taken directly from Bethesda Elven weapons to the hilt and scabbard of Adonnay's weapons. The result, I hope you will agree, is a product which gives us the best of both worlds: Adonnay's lovely new swords combined with Bethesda textures which match the rest of their arms and armor.

IMPORTANT NOTES!
First, this mod replaces certain Elven blades. Specifically, it replaces the Elven longswords, short swords and daggers. NO ENCHANTED WEAPONS HAVE BEEN TOUCHED! The reason I left the enchanted weapons as they were is because although I prefer Adonnay's blades, I also do not like completely removing content from the game. So, if you find an enchanted Elven sword in some container, it will still look like the Bethesda defaults.

Also, the Elven claymore has not been touched. This was a personal decision because I happen to think the Elven claymore is the best looking claymore in the game.

FInally, those of you who are already familiar with Adonnay's weapons will know what I mean when I talk about the bright, glistening sheen on the blades. This is done by specially preparing the meshes by changing a variable called "apply mode" from 2 to 3. It should be noted that I changed this setting back to 2, so you will NOT get that sheen. Again, this is a personal decision. All of the other default Elven weapons, while clean and shiny by their own right, do not have that unique Adonnay "shimmer". So why should these three new blades have it? In place of this, I added texturing to the blades, again using default Bethesda blade textures --- this, to me, adds even further consistency. If you prefer a more shiny look and haven't yet tried Adonnay's weapons, please visit TESSource.com and search for Adonnay's wonderful collection.

Compatability:
This mod is compatible with any mod that does not change the non-enchanted Elven longsword, short sword or dagger. If you DO have such a mod and would still like to use these but don't know how to add them yourself, PM me at MarkQuinn on the official forums and I'll send you simple instructions.
