ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION

Script Effect Icon Replacer

By: Legion5V2 and Madcat221

********************************

This mod is pretty straightforward; it replaces the tacky Burden icon used for script effects with a script icon.

You have a choice of which icons you want. The "Normal" ones have illegibly tiny lines of text, while the "Daedric" has "script" spelled out on it in Daedric font.
Open the corresponding folder of your choice, drop the "textures" folder within along with the ESP, activate the ESP, and then play.

INCOMPATIBILITIES:

This mod will conflict with any mod that also edits the "Script Effect" magic effect entry. As far as I can tell, that is currently none.

Legion5v2 for making the icon

FAQ: Why make a script effect icon when there are workarounds?

In mods like "Mighty Magick", they technically aren't script effect icons, they're zero-effect spells put in there to create a simulacrum of a special spell effect icon. This can have unintended side effects, like skewing the intended school of magic the spell belongs to. For instance, say you have a customized scripted Summon spell set to the Conjuration school, but want it to use the Resistance icon for it. The game engine calculates what school a spell belongs to by whichever spell is the "most powerful". Despite the stock spell effect being 0 for all purposes, it still is considered "greater" than the script effect (which is always considered "least"). Thus, your summon spell you intended for Conjuration ends up becoming a Restoration spell instead.

This addresses this need to use this problematic workaround by making the script effect icon itself more attractive. Any modder who wishes to use the workaround is strongly discouraged to do so, or at least match the magic school to that you intend your script effect to belong to. Otherwise you'll be "healing" your summoned beast into existence.
