    Ok so I'm having trouble wth the first quest, she wasnt clear on items she needed (or i skipped through lol), anyone know what she needs.....or console command to skip it forward

    I can't believe I am bothering to post this in 2024... For anybody still playing this ancient mod and experiencing a crash when sitting on the throne. Here's a workaround.

    The problem:
    When the player sits on the throne and when certain conditions are met, the script attached to the throne will set the quest stage of quest "AASmithyQuest" to 10 and it will add an AI package to a friendly Dremora. This in itself does not cause any crashes.

    The crash happens when quest stage 10 of quest "AASmithyQuest" is triggered. This stage has a script attached to it that teleports the friendly Dremora and forces it to evaluate it's AI package:
    DremOutcastRef.moveto SmithyMarkerRef
    DremOutcastRef.evp

    You can easily reproduce the crash by simply typing "SetStage AASmithyQuest 10" in the console (without even touching the throne). If you're standing in front of the throne (facing the door to the alchemy room) you can see the Dremora spawn to the left of this door. This is where the "SmithyMarkerRef" is.

    For me, the Dremora would teleport sitting (in mid air). He would then stand up and as soon as the stand up animiation finished, the game would crash. This would happen even if I removed the part of the script that forced AI package evaluation "DremOutcastRef.evp".

    To work around the crash, you need to "Disable" the friendly Dremora using the console, then set the quest stage to 10, "Enable" him again and then move the friendly Dremora to the player character. You can then talk to the Dremora and the quest will proceed. You can then also sit on the throne again as the script attached to the throne is set up in such a way that it will not trigger the AASmithyQuest again once it has reached stage 10 or higher.

    First, find out what the hexadecimal load order ID of DremoraCompanion.esm is in your load order. Oblivion.esm is always 00. In my load order, DremoraCompanion was the 5th mod after Oblivion.esm, hence its ID is 05. You can also use https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/40132. In that case you can use "prid DremOutcastRef" in the console instead of "prid <referenceID>".

    Open the console and type the following commands (replace xx with the load order ID of DremoraCompanion.esm):
    prid xx051ba6
    Disable
    SetStage AASmithyQuest 10
    Enable
    MoveTo Player

    Now speak to Dremora that just spawned directly next to you to start the quest.

    is there a way to force start the second quest? it's been weeks since i finished the first quest and i think i might have killed the messenger that starts the quest. i went to sleep in Dunbarrow cove some time after beating the first quest(possibly a week) and after an hour i got attacked by a named Dremora. i initially thought it might have been from another one of my mods but now it's been some time and the second quest won't start

      This! Too many people seem to have not talked to the messenger and the mod creator has yet to post any decent fix. Amoz is cool and this mod would be great if the creator could get over their desire for immersion so immersive you can destroy the whole quest line without being at fault. It's been years and they have yet to dig up the Ref ID of the messenger, best bet I've found in searching is have to install the Construction Set and searching through that.

      I know this is years late but if you use TES4Edit you could find the messenger's Ref ID easily, or find the quest id so you can use console command "resetquest [Quest id]" to restart it

      Just in case anyone is looking for it, the ref ID for the messenger is 0107EA71

      When I used this command he automatically talked to me, but it had already been 7 days since the last quest, I don't know what would happen if you use the command before the 7 days pass.

    The mod worked perfect for me! Amazing! Guess most of the others here have some kind of mod conflict or load order problem, but the mod is perfectly stable on my end. Love it.

    And since I use OCO 2, I took a trip to the construction set to give Amoz a handsome makeover!

    Just a note. This mod must be loaded after servant of the dawn or you'll get a location specific CTD. Amoz will also attack CM partners, so grab the ring of companionship here on the nexus if you'd like him to play nice.

      I know this is from 2017, but can't find other fixes, so I hope it's not a bother. You don't happen to still have him for ocov2 or a way to pass the changed files here do you? Just asking in case you do before trying to learn Construction Set!

      Edit: Never mind! just chacked the creator didn't approve of changes! I'm sorry, should have read better.

    I'm doing the first quest 'a tale of betrayal' and amoz runs a little bit after I free him than just stops in front of the lava. Is he supposed to be doing this and I'm just impatient or is it bugged? I've been waiting for a little while and he hasn't done anything.

    I like this mod a lot, im just sad that i have to open and close to figure out what to do and also a lot of crashes,
    i wish there was quest markers and minimized crashes. anyway like your mod :P
    edit/ i cant also do chapter 6 of the quest, it just crashes when i sleep at the bed

    Well, this was certainly an ambitious mod. I actually tried downloading it back in 2011, but never got the chance to give it a try, until now. Upon trying to load my main file with the mod active, I immediately kept crashing without reason. I couldn't even get into the game, it'd crash on the loading screen. I could load all my other files, with had the same mods as my main, but not the main file.

    I eventually bypassed the crashing and was able to finally give the mod a proper try, but having to save constantly in the event that I would crash was not fun. And I did crash, a lot. The quests themselves were decent, and I never found myself bored of doing them. The new weapons and armor were also pretty cool.

    Unfortunately, the voice acting and some of the dialogue were less than stellar. Some echo effect for the voiced Daedra would have been nice, and at one point, it became painfully obvious that the woman who voices Snowflake was reading directly from the script, even awkwardly pausing between words.

    The mod had several glitches too. When Kear strips you of your equipment and has his minions lead you away, they don't actually take a proper path. Instead, they head straight for the lava and go through it. For players who aren't practically immortal, this is a surefire way to die, and if you don't follow them in the lava, they attack you. I had to use console commands to get passed that part.

    When in the maze itself, Amoz immediately ran off and got stuck under the ground, constantly going unconscious thanks to the lava underneath the map. I had to just ignore him and continue on without him until he finally spawned next to me in a different area.

    While in the Tomb of the Unseen, I had to use console commands again to unlock the doors to get the crystal ball, as they were all locked and needed a key, and I could not find any keys in the dungeon.

    Then when you're following Bizrloz and he casts a spell to reveal the hidden door, the rock doesn't disappear. He just keeps walking into it without stopping and tries to continue casting the spell. I had to once again use console commands to disable the rock so he could access the door behind it.

    The mod also conflicts with other mods in certain places, making the quest unable to be completed. One main example is the Sacred Petrified Tree in Blackmarsh. Any mod that places something there overrides the tree completely.

    Eventually, I decided to uninstall the mod, as crashing often, even when not doing the quests or while playing other files, could not justify keeping it. The mod had promise, but its execution needs a lot more work.
