DESCRIPTION
-----------
Ever wish you could use the in-game rowboats? Now you can. Existing rowboats have been directly replaced with usable ones. Larger ships are unchanged. An optional mod adds a bridge at Leyawiin to connect the river to the sea.

CREDITS
-------
Big thanks to Jason1 for his Pirate Ship demo mod that was the inspiration and original source of the boat script.

COMPATIBILITY
-------------
This mod is compatible with other boat mods like Jason1's Pirate Ship, the Bella Moretta and the Marie Elena.

This mod removes Cyrodiil's borders for free sailing and does the same thing as the Border Removal and Borderless Cyrodiil mods. There are no conflicts with those two border mods but they are no longer needed.

This mod does not require the use of the Safe Water or Plain Sailing mods. The optional Leyawiin bridge mod will conflict with those two mods as they modify the same area.

INSTALLATION
------------
Copy the Rowboats.esp (and optional bridge mod) and the meshes folder to your Oblivion\Data folder and enable mod(s) under "Data Files" in the Oblivion start screen.

OPTIONAL LEYAWIIN BRIDGE MOD
----------------------------
I developed an optional Leyawiin Bridge mod for those who want to connect the Niben River to Topal Bay. The Safe Water and Plain Sailing mods are great for the larger ship mods but make a lot of changes to a lot of areas that aren't really necessary if you're just using the small rowboats. This Leyawiin Bridge mod is more limited in scope and changes are minimal. Path grids have been adapted so the NPCs will know to use the bridge and not get stuck on one side or have to swim to get across.

HOW IT WORKS (adapted from the original readme)
-----------------------------------------------
1. Activate the rowboat (default key is spacebar). You will get a "Ready to row" popup message.

2. Press "run" - by default the shift key - to access the control menu while sailing.

3. Select "turn to my heading" from the menu to steer. The front end of the boat is the end with the tip sticking up.

4. Choose "Drop anchor" to stop using the boat.

There is collision detection. Most of the time this is pretty intuitive, but sometimes it can be tricky. It works best when colliding head-on and least well when colliding with several objects along the side. If the collider gets really out of whack, it may be neccessary to rock the ship off the obstacle by selecting commands from the menu repeatedly. Sometimes dropping anchor can help also, once the obstacle is cleared. In short, it is best not to run into things.

Your NPCs will not be able to travel in the boat with you.

Drop anchor before fast traveling.

ISSUES
------
Sometimes when you reload in-game, you may fall right through the boat. From the original readme: "This can always be fixed by returning to the main menu before loading the save. Apparently some data does not get cleared by Oblivion when loading a save from in-game. It is IMPOSSIBLE to fix this unless Bethesda makes all loads act like main menu loads or add a scripting event to let us know when a game has just been loaded." You can also go into an interior cell and come back out and everything will be fine.

Sometimes after sailing for a while, you will drop through the bottom of the boat and lose collision detection. Just swim away from the boat. The rowboat menu will come up eventually.

As there is no border restriction anymore, if you sail really far outside the map, you will reach the "end of the world".

CHANGELOG
---------
Version 1.1
Added a water sound while rowing to make it more immersive.
Added optional Leyawiin Bridge mod to connect the Niben river to Topal Bay.
Made rowing instructions a little clearer in readme.

Version 1.0
Adapted the rowboat script from Jason1's Pirate Ship Demo. Fixed some script slowdown issues that occurred in the original.
Added a rowboat outside Leyawiin East Entrance.
Rope spool in boat near Vilverin moved to the dock.
Removed the invisible borders surrounding Cyrodiil that would cause the "You cannot go that way. Turn back" messages.
