LockedStickyComments here have gone increasingly off-topic, so I have removed several of them. Anyone wishing to debate or discuss their opinions on the usage of AI voicing is welcome to do so in their own threads on the forums, but this Comments thread here is intended solely for discussion of the mod AFK Weye Voices (ElevenLabs).

There used to be an ElevenLabs voice mod for House Verone Bloodlines (updated version by Arthmoor) but even though he only added some bug fixes, he was still able to have the voice mods removed from Nexus and those authors, at least two that I know of, quit modding as a result. Is there any chance of that happening here? Or would you recommend archiving your work on our personal devices just incase a certain someone who shall not be named wants to dictate and ruin everyone's enjoyment of a game that came out 20 yrs ago?

Someone else had already done voices for AFK Weye some months ago. That mod was removed within a day of posting. I wonder how long this version will be allowed to stay.

LockedI've been historically silent on this topic, and I think maybe it's time I changed that.
Vorians is correct as to his interpretation of my permissions. They were written in a time before AI, but they do say what they say. I haven't yet gone after anyone for this sort of thing, and don't particularly plan to.
Too, don't think I'm unsympathetic to a desire for voiced dialogue. I tried for it in 2010. Obviously, that didn't pan out. Turns out it's really hard. Silent dialogue is what I could give the world.
That having been said, I have been and remain highly skeptical of and uncomfortable with AI voice mods, especially ones that clone vanilla Oblivion voices. Firstly, it is my understanding that at least one of the Oblivion voice actors doesn't want their voice used in this way, and my intent is to respect that [see here]. Secondly and relatedly, I think there are concerns around the plagarism of voice actors that are inescapable with AI voicing in this way.
Put shortly, I don't have enough time in my day to chase people down for this stuff, but I'm not a fan.

I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these voice addons for many great mods. They really enhance and expose the hard work of many modders from even decades past. Just wanted to say that.

There seems to be some missing dialogue with the 'Problems' and 'Hagal and Yrsa' topics when asking NPCs about it after starting Death and Taxes.
