About this mod
Adds a spell into the game that allows you to convert lower damage arrows into the highest damage arrow you have in your inventory.

This mod adds a novice Alteration spell that the player can learn from a spell tome (Spell Tomes DLC is not required), called 'Convert Arrows'. Casting the spell does not cost Magicka, but does contribute towards leveling Alteration. The spell tome is located in front of the Imperial City Prison, at the end of the bridge reaching out from the Imperial City towards the Imperial City Prison. There is an Oblivion only version of the mod, in which only Oblivion base game arrows are taken into account, and there is an Oblivion + Shivering Isles version of the mod which takes into account arrows from the Oblivion base game arrows as well as the Shivering Isles DLC.
Alternatively to picking up the spell tome, you can use console commands to add the spell to the player with the command 'player.addspell [reference]', but you'll have to fill in the '[reference]' part yourself. The reference for the Oblivion + Shivering Isles version of the spell is XX000ED5, and the reference for the Oblivion only version of the spell is XX000ED4 but you have to replace XX with the proper hexadecimal code, based on how far down your load order (including DLC and other mods) this mod is. Position 0 (Oblivion.esm) = 00, position 1 = 01, position 2 = 02, 3 = 03, 4 = 04, 5 = 05, 6 = 06, 7 = 07, 8 = 08, 9 = 09, 10 = 0A, 11 = 0B, 12 = 0C, 13 = 0D, 14 = 0E, 15 = 0F, 16 = 10, 17 = 11, 18 = 12, 19 = 13, 20 = 14, 21 = 15, 22 = 16, 23 = 17, 24 = 18, 25 = 19, 26 = 1A, 27 = 1B, 28 = 1C, 29 = 1D, 30 = 1E, 31 = 1F, 32 = 20 and so on. You can look up a decimal to hexadecimal converter online if you need to know what the hexadecimal code is for even higher numbers.
E.g. if you have this mod in position 18 in your load order and you want to add the spell from this mod through the console, you'll have to fill in '12' instead of 'XX' in the reference when using the command.
When this spell is cast, if the player has at least one lower damage arrow from the base game in their inventory and at least one higher damage arrow from the base game in their inventory, the lower damage arrows will be converted over to their highest damage arrows at a conversion rate based on each arrow's base damage.
You can't receive any arrow type that wasn't already present in your inventory.
Exception: The spell ignores any arrows with an enchantment on them, and quest arrows.
Example of function: You have one arrow with a base damage of 16 and two arrows with a base damage of 8 in your inventory (total of three arrows). The conversion spell sees that your highest damage arrow has a base damage of 16. Adding the two other arrows' 8 base damage together, they are together worth one arrow with 16 base damage. The conversion spell sees that, takes your two 8 base damage arrows and converts them so that you are left with two arrows with base damage 16 (total of two arrows).
Note: If it can't convert cleanly, the spell may grant you an extra arrow here or there. After converting arrows, you'll usually have fewer arrows than before: only use the spell when you're sure you'll be able to retain a good amount of them. Some arrow types may also be heavier or lighter, your encumbrance may be affected.
Note: THIS IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. If there are any arrows in your inventory other than your highest damage ones that you don't want to be involved in the conversion process for whatever reason, drop them from your inventory or store them elsewhere before using the spell, then pick them back up after.
Depending on the version of the mod that you install (Oblivion only or Oblivion + Shivering Isles), the following arrows will be taken into account by the conversion system:
