About this mod

Adds new NPCs to the Imperial City.

So, one thing I always enjoyed about Oblivion was creating new NPCs. That's how I first started modding. Creating basic NPCs with basic AI packages to fill in voids in the world. Granted, as I got deeper into modding I was able to make more complex NPCs. NPCs who could sleep, gather things, deliver goods, travel via scripts, execute other NPCs, fight large scale battles, etc etc. It might seem simple to the way more seasoned modders in the community, but to me doing this was revolutionary and fun.

One of the first NPC mods I ever did, but never released, was a crowded cities mod in Chorrol - my favorite city. NPCs had neatly done schedules to make them feel alive. Thieves, snitches, jailbirds, guards, and more! I wanted to return to those roots by doing a whole new mod series, but with the modding knowledge I have now.

Hence, Denizens of Cyrodiil.

What this mod does is add 10 new NPCs to the Imperial City with unique names and schedules to truly make them feel alive. Some have secrets they hide, others are engaged in unscrupulous activities or alliances, memberships in certain guilds. All of this, in the name of making the world seem more alive and crowded.

Below are the list of NPCs I created with a little bit of what they do and how they idle their time away in game.

Got any ideas for more NPCs for Imperial City? Drop them in the comments, if I like the idea, I'll do it!

Check out my other Denizens of Cyrodiil mods!

THE NPCs:

Marcus Llinius

At first glance, Marcus Llinius is a well-to-do Imperial man living in the Imperial City. Noble in status, noble in mind, and simple. He likes to take walks in the Arboretum on Sundays, enjoys meals at The Foaming Flask, and likes to gallavant around the Market District with his peers and the lower class. One would never suspect that he may have ties to the Gray Fox himself...

Athel Melloran

Athel is your standard mercenary. Unaffiliated with The Fighter's Guild, he has taken to working for Umbacano by procuring him Welkynd Stones from the Ayleid ruins around the Imperial City just to put food on the table. On his off days, he likes to pay patronage to the Arena, walk around the Market District, and enjoy the beauty of the Arboretum.

Aurelius Hermanus

The Primate of the Imperial Cult. He can often be found in the Temple District, either holding services or wandering about the gardens. He is a friendly individual, and can also be found hitting up The Feed Bag for breakfast and lunch. On Sundays, he can be found outside the city at the nearby Wayshrine of Julianos.

Garret Decellian

A Legend among the Thieves' Guild for both his wit and his longevity of freedom. Having spent little time in the Imperial City Prison and more time on the streets, he is loyal to the Gray Fox and himself. He can be found sometimes on the Waterfront District where he makes his home but more often than not, you can find find him prowling the streets, casing joints and bringing coin to the Thieves' Guild.

Elefire Kororinh

At first glance, Elefire is a low-level mage in the Mages Guild who studies at the Arcane University. She's an avid bookworm and a pension for utilizing a staff that damages weaponry instead of outright killing her adversary. Often times, you'll see her leave the confines of the University to catch up on her reading at the First Edition. All of this, and you wouldn't suspect that she harbors a dark secret...

Clauliene Stetal

Another Mercenary, on contract with Herminia Cina. Like Athel Melloran does for Umbacano, she scavenges the nearby Ayleid Ruins for Welkynd Stones to give to Herminia Cina. She likes to enjoy her offdays shopping the various wares in the Market District.

Darice Lorck

A noble living within the city. He's rumored to be a solitary Breton, taking nighttime strolls when the streets are empty and almost never leaving his hotel during the day. Whenever he is seen, he's seen with a book in hand so he's obviously a bookworm. These traits make it easy to hide his evil nature...

Lukien the Old Captain

An Ex-Pirate that has settled down inside the Imperial City. Despite his past and the connotations his name might imply, he likes to enjoy his retirement by wandering the Temple and Market Districts during the day, before retiring to The Bloated Float when the sun sets. You can also see him in Anvil on occasions, visiting old friends from his pirate days.

Gabriela Herminius

A Guard Captain for the Imperial City, and perhaps the only female captain in the entire guard. She makes her rounds daily throughout the Imperial City, going to each district, save for the Arena District out of disgust for it, and keeps a watchful eye on the populace. At night, she can be found in the Barracks in the Prison District, idling her time away until lights out.

Junley

A battlemage in the Mage's Guild and member of the Order of The Lamp. He is tasked with guarding the Arcane University against all threats, foreign and domestic. But every now and again he'll slink away to the Market District to spend his hard earned gold.
