After the opportune request of Xanias I decided to tweak this specific feature of Oblivion: the sound of bells. Xanias argued that the bell sounds featured in vanilla Oblivion were very unrealistic, and I completely agree. So now, with Better Bell Sounds, you can finally give the bells the place they deserve in cities. You will now hear their sounds almost all over the cities, in a very realistic way. This mod also features bell sounds inside cathedrals (only applicable to city cathedrals, excluding Kvatch’s), which is not a feature of vanilla Oblivion.

I’m also planning to add half hour bell sounds and multiple bell rings according to the current hour. However, I found those features quite difficult to implement, otherwise I’d already have placed them on this version.


::::: Installation :::::
Place the file “Better Bell Sounds.esp” in your Oblivion data folder (normally “C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data” and activate it in your mod manager.


::::: Issues :::::
This mod should be compatible with every mod available up to date. If you find any incompatibility, please post it in the official forum thread so that I can take care of it. Also, if you find any bug or inconsistency in this mod (such as missing sounds, for example) post it and I’ll correct it as soon as possible.

There shouldn’t be any FPS hit since all this mod does is to tweak an already in-game feature.
