Enhanced Vanilla Faces is a mod with a mission to improve the look of Oblivion's characters while still remaining true to the game's original style by replacing the original "potato" head models with tweaked versions that look more detailed while using the same geometry as the original versions. No plugins are required (for now at least), and the replacement meshes work just fine with all vanilla head texture replacements due to no modifications being made to the UV grid.
What are the changes exactly?
- Humanoid races get a nice bit of detail to the overall shape of their faces, most notably cheekbones, lips and cheeks. Less like potatoes and more lifelike in general.
- Khajiits now look less like housecats stung by bees and more like lions they were supposed to resemble, thanks to more detailed noses, jowls/lips and jaws.
- Argonians now have a more straightforwardly lizard-like head design with a pointy muzzle, rather than the usual weird amphibian-hybrid one. They resemble their Morrowind counterparts more now.
Recommended mods:
- Undeformed Potatoes - makes subtle changes to make pretty characters prettier, and ugly characters more believably ugly.
- Working Eyelashes - adds eyelashes to human NPCs and provides options to add whiskers to Khajiits, too!
- New Face Textures - provides new face textures for humanoid races, my personal favorite.
- Khajiit face and eye retexture - a nice face texture replacer for Khajiits
