Description

A preconfigured Oblivion Stutter Remover preset I made. Made with Display Tweaks and MoreHeap in mind, so get them too.

Other presets I tried tended to run pretty iffy for my PC, so I cranked one out in about 5 minutes. Then I made my own OSR INI. Other presets tended to have FPS dips into the 30s often, and generally stutter more often, though still were better than vanilla without OSR. This preset I rushed out mostly followed the advice of the original INI's comments, and the posts section of the mod page. As a result the lowest stutter I saw was only as low as about 42 FPS instead of in the lower ~ mid 30s.

Details of how I tested those numbers with:
  • Hardware's an old 4 core i5-3470, 12GB DDR3 RAM, 1050 Ti, shitty Dell MoBo, and Windows 10 on an old 1TB HDD
  • Decently kitted out sub-200 mod setup with OUT and Really Textured Normal Maps - Updated overwriting it's textures where needed
  • I used MoreHeap set to 450, DXVK with 16x AF, and most Display Tweaks settings enabled with any conflicting OSR settings off
  • Ran around the Fort Nikel and Weye area, using the Nvidia overlay's performance monitor and keeping an eye on the FPS

Any CTDs I had were also happening without OSR too btw. So it's very unlikely this INI will cause any crashes.

Note that this is intended for a modern setup with Display Tweaks and MoreHeap. Conflicting settings come already disabled!
Don't enable them either! I'm too lazy to restore their defaults, and they'll likely be my wonky testing values that aren't for general use!

It's not 2011 anymore. And no, I don't wanna hear about how MoreHeap deleted System32, or how Display Tweaks slept with your wife. If you REALLY wanna keep using OBSR's obsolete versions of those features, feel free to use a different preset. I'm not gonna try to "win" any modding "debates." But if you're on Windows 10 or 11, you should be using Display Tweaks anyway. As a lot of NVSR's features have since broken with Windows OSes, OSR's features have likely suffered a similar fate. (I think it might just be a mass placebo making some people not notice it, but I digress.)

Finally, note that everyone's hardware is a tad bit different, like differing RAM and disk speeds. Results may heavily vary.

Install & Uninstall

First have Display Tweaks and MoreHeap installed. Then set MoreHeap to a size of 500.

To install my OSR preset, use a mod manager or extract the archive into the data folder.
To uninstall it, deactivate in your mod manager, or replace my OSR INI with the original mod's INI within your data folder.

Safe to add or remove from your game at any time.
