About this mod

Adds Hell Hounds to Conjurer Dungeons.

Permissions and credits
Oblivion is a great game in many ways, superior to later editions such as Skyrim and ESO by way of it's roleplaying aspects. But one thing that always annoyed me was that Oblivion is a game centered around the Daedra. Now, loyal fans and lore-mongers such as myself will be able to tell you that there are countless types of Lesser Daedra. The Shivering Isles even indoctrinated the Knights of Order into the lore, which was neat.

But how come, on a game centered around Daedra, the actual number of Daedra types were so limited? Where are the Vermai, the Herne, the Morphoid Daedra? Where are the Daedra Seducers? The Huntsmen? I'm really disappointed, personally, at the choice the devs made to not expand upon one of the core themes of the game.

That is actually something I seek to address.

What this mod does is fairly simple: It adds Hell Hounds, a Daedra that only appeared in Arena - the very first game - as regular rank-and-file enemies in Conjurer Dungeons. They will begin to spawn at level 10, and will be a huge threat for a little while afterwards. With 75 health, access to fire magic such as AOE attacks and touch spells, and new, terrifying sounds, these Hell Hounds will give you a run for your money.

Finally, regarding lore-friendliness. It has been confirmed through Zenimax that Hell Hounds are canon in the world of The Elder Scrolls. Lyranth the Foolkiller, an ESO Dremora, in specific, was asked by a mortal. This is what she had to say.

"Your problem, mortal, is exemplified by your words, 'share a common origin in the planes of Oblivion.' There is nothing 'common' about, between, or across the planes of Oblivion—they are the very definition of change and variation, manifesting all possibilities, and validating all understanding and misunderstanding. You seek similarities where there are only differences, a classification of chaos. You think that, because you perceive a superficial resemblance between the outward appearance of the Nightmare Courser and the Hell Hound, that they must share a 'relationship.'"

Basically put, Lyranth confirms that the Hell Hound is different from a Nightmare Courser and admonishes the asker for being stupid. But that's just my interpretation of it.

Be sure to track this mod, I'll keep it up to date as best as I can.

If you think you can help me with my quest to bring as many Lesser Daedra back into Oblivion as possible, hit me up! I'm looking for modelers and texturers specifically!

Compatiblity:

Incompatible with any mods that alter the Conjurer level lists. Use Wrye Bash to make a bashed patch in order to maximize compatibility.
