About this mod

This mod changes the abilities of Vanilla races, taking inspiration from Skyrim. Its goal is ultimately to both balance and increase the uniqueness of the races.

Permissions and credits
This balance mod alters the races of Oblivion to largely do away with natural immunities (and favoring resistances), while also restoring missing abilities seen in Morrowind (or those later added in Skyrim). In addition, a secondary goal is to have some racial powers and lesser powers continue to be useful into the late game.

UPDATE: Changes have been made to Redguard, restoring a 50% resistance to disease, removing the additional ability, and returning to what is far more similar to the vanilla Adrenaline Rush.

UPDATE: It seems that racial Fortify Attribute effects are dispelled at the end of the tutorial. The Imperial Luck ability has been replaced with a flat +10 racial bonus to Luck, instead.

UPDATE: After some testing, further tweaks have been made; the Highborn, Histskin, and Adrenaline Rush powers didn't have enough oompf to them, and so they were adjusted to have the 60-second duration as seen in Skyrim, and much higher magnitudes than the original "5 points for 30". In addition, it was discovered that the bonus to weapon damage from Strength caps at 100, greatly affecting the efficiency of Orc Berserk and Redguard Adrenaline Rush in the late game. They have both been adjusted and are now more distinct from one another.

CHANGES

Argonian
- Histskin power added (Restore 5 Health on Self for 60 seconds)
- Poison Immunity replaced with 50% Resistance to Poison
- Argonian Disease Resistance decreased to 50% (from 75%)

Breton
- Breton Magic Resistance reduced to 25% (from 50%)
- Dragon Skin power now is a Spell Absorption effect with a magnitude of 50 and a duration of 60 seconds (!!!)

Dark Elf
- Fire Resistance decreased to 50% (from 75%)
- Now gains a +50 bonus to starting Magicka
- Ancestor Guardian duration increased to 120 seconds (from 60 seconds)

High Elf 
- Disease Resistance reduced to 50% (from 75%)
- 25% Weakness to Magicka added
- Highborn power added (Restore 15 Magicka on Self for 60 seconds)

Imperial
- Imperial Luck ability added (confers a permanent +10 bonus to Luck)
- Voice of the Emperor now charms 50 points for 15 seconds (instead of 30 for 30)
- Star of the West absorbs 200 Fatigue (up from 100)

Khajiit
- Now gain the Eye of the Hunt power, which detects life within 100 feet for 60 seconds 
- Eye of Fear magnitude increased from 100 (Level 25 maximum) to 200 (Level 50 maximum)

Nord
- Shock resistance 25% added
- Nordic Frost re-named Thunder Fist and reworked;
- 25 Shock Damage
- 50 Cold Damage
- Woad protection reduced to 25 (from 30)

Orc
- Berserk power is now improved to compensate for the lack of significant features; now also provides, for 60 seconds, a 50% resistance to normal weapons

Redguard
- Disease Resistance reduced to 50%
- Poison Resistance reduced to 50%
- Adrenaline Rush is reworked and restores 35 Fatigue per second for 60 seconds, instead of providing 25 Health for 60 seconds

Wood Elf
- Disease Resistance reduced to 50% (from 75%)
- Beast Tongue magnitude increased from 20 (Level 5 maximum) to 40 (Level 10 maximum), and duration increased to 300 (from 60).
- New Power: Y'ffre's Gift (Provides a 50% Chameleon effect for 60 seconds)
