This is a collection of my Wrye Bash BCFs for various mods. BAIN Conversion Files (BCFs) are effectively automated archive converters, converting an existing archive or several archives into a new layout. They can be used to make BAIN-incompatible archives compatible, or make compatible archives easier to install.

This is a collection of my Wrye Bash BCFs for various mods. BAIN Conversion Files (BCFs) are effectively automated archive converters, converting an existing archive or several archives into a new layout. They can be used to make BAIN-incompatible archives compatible, or make compatible archives easier to install. As they don't contain any files that are found in the existing archive(s), the only copyright/permissions that apply are those that the BCF creator stipulates, which generally makes distribution easier. BCFs are also usually much smaller, only containing new files that it adds (commonly package.txt and ini file tweaks) and a BCF.dat that tells Wrye Bash how to reorganise the archive(s). I mainly made these BCFs for use with my Oblivion Comprehensive Modding Guide.
You need the latest version of Wrye Bash to use BCFs without issues. This utility cannot be installed with a mod manager. Place the BCFs from this archive into your 'Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Bain Converters' folder, that you should have already if you have Wrye Bash installed. Then in Wrye Bash's BAIN, you can right-click on a package and go to BAIN Conversions -> Apply and then select the BCF. It will then create a BAIN-friendly archive of that package. If you still have trouble doing it, here's the longer explanation:

- Ensure that the BCF is installed in the correct location, Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Bain Converters. Also ensure that the archive(s) it converts is/are in Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers.
- From the BAIN installers list, select the archive(s) to be converted (i.e., the source packages) and right click on the selected file(s) to bring up the context menu, and select Conversions to open the sub-menu.
- Click on Apply to open a second sub-menu and select the BCF from it. There may be more than one BCF listed if multiple installed BCFs can convert the selected package(s). An asterisk ('*') is added to the end of a BCF's name for every archive it converts that isn't selected.
- Optionally choose a name for the converted archive(s).
- Once Wrye Bash has finished the conversion, the converted archive(s) will appear in the BAIN package list ready for install. You can now delete the original archive(s).
