Description

This mod adds a skill bonus when wearing a matching set of light or heavy armour. The intention is that this will encourage roleplaying, rather than just equipping the best armour you can find.

Unlike similar mods, this mod also supports enchanted and mod-added items.

To get the bonuses, your must be wearing at least three pieces of the same armour set, and also not be wearing any armour from a different set. Shields and clothing items are ignored, so that you can freely complement your outfit with any of these items.

The bonus abilities are:
  • Light Armor - "Swiftguard"  +10 Light Armor, +8 Athletics, +8 Acrobatics
  • Heavy Armor - "Sternclad"  +10 Heavy Armor, +8 Athletics, +8 Acrobatics

The armour skill boosts should provide a small bonus to rating and helps you to achieve mastery bonuses early. These effects are intended to simulate armour being more protective and easy to move in when the pieces match and fit together better.

How it Works
Spoiler:
Show
Unlike similar mods, which check for specific items, and so don't work for player-enchanted items, this mod instead checks whether equipped armour items have the same model directory. That means mod-added armour sets should also work, provided they use a logical file structure. Event-based scripting is used so that the check scripts only run when you equip or unequip armour, meaning there should be no performance issues, etc.

Known Issue
Spoiler:
Show
If the bonus is lost whilst in your inventory by equipping or unequipping items, the '[ability] removed' message will not show and the active effects tab will not update until you either close the menu and re-open it or equip or unequip another item. This is a vanilla issue, and it is only visual (the effect is removed, but the menus just haven't updated).
