About this mod

The first in a series of (probably) many, the "Six Paths of Pain — The Deva Path" lets you manipulate reality's repulsive force by repelling the air and dividing the very sky.

Update: 5/2/2022. So, as Steam Oblivion for Win10/11 is a bugged shithole Bethesda didn't bother to truly port (memory leaks, weird BSOD crashes caused by it, etc) and as my HDD failed completely a few months ago, I won't be able to further develop this nice little mod. Maybe in a very distant future where ES: IV is actually playable in newer systems.

The Six Paths of Pain

The Deva Path (天道, Tendō)

Requires the latest stable version of OBSE (v0021).

I obviously can't fully translate a concept from another story coming from a different medium (manga & anime) into an Elder Scrolls game, but I tried my best.

The Deva Path adds a master level mysticism spell of the same name to three powerful mages in Cyrodiil: Agata, Raminus Polus and Hannibal Traven.

Agata and Polus can teach you the Deva Path for a really high price depending on your skill. The archmage learned it for self-defense, so he could show everyone why he's the boss and not a lame old man who casts a 1pt suicide fire spell when he's needed most.

The first version, "Rain", will instantly repel your opponents 550 feet away from your position, dealing them 150 damage in the process. It's been marked as a hostile effect, so don't expect NPCs to like it.

The second ESP, "Thunderstorm", sends your enemies flying 600 feet away dealing 200 damage and costing slightly more in terms of magicka consumption.

Be careful, as casting the Deva Path will either evoke rain or a powerful storm from the heavens...

I doubt it would have been practical to add a "pull" function to the spell, so I didn't do it — you wouldn't have been able to hold or trap your targets anyway. Also, Oblivion's engine differs from Skyrim's.

This powerful mysticism spell is still subject to reflect, resist and absorb magicka. Silence can prevent you from casting it. Powerful enemies with 100% resistance may render the script effect null. Enemies who reflect magic may reflect it back at you. I figured this would be a lot more interesting for gameplay and balance purposes.

The spell has a very high magicka cost (about 102~110 per cast at 100 mysticism skill). Gameplay has been tested for a high level (85) warrior/battlemage with 300 magicka and almost 900 health. I'm not sure how balance would work for other classes, but feel free to try. When in doubt activate the "Rain" version for weaker stats.

Don't check both ESPs at the same time or your game will likely crash.

Just drop the version of your preference in Oblivion's Data folder and check the file from your Oblivion Launcher.
